  2. 2. Plasticity Driven Damage and Void Growth

    Författare :Mattias Olsson; Kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Termisk teknik; termodynamik; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; vibration and acoustic engineering; vacuum technology; hydraulics; void growth; Mechanical engineering; damage evolution; elasto-plasticity; thermodynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Plasticity induced damage evolution is considered using a thermodynamical approach. Different postulates on how to include the effects of damage in the constitutive equations have been studied. The results reveal that a mapping, similar to that of the stress, of both the kinematic and isotropic hardening variables is to be preferred. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Co-rotational beam elements in instability problems

    Författare :Jean-Marc Battini; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :instability; co-rotational mehtod; branch-switching; beam element; warping; plastic buckling. post-bifurcation; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of the work presented in this thesis is to implement co-rotational beam elements and branch-switching procedures in order to analyse elastic and elastoplasticinstability problems. For the 2D beam elements, the co-rotational framework is taken from Crisfield [23]. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On constitutive modelling of the compaction and sintering of cemented carbides

    Författare :Jan Brandt; Viggo Tvergaard; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The common manufacturing procedure for components of cemented carbide is a closed die cold compaction of a powder and a subsequent sintering of the compact to full density and strength.Major problems with the manufacturing process are the possible fracturing on ejection from the tooling and the distortion in the final shape. 5. 5. Effects of deep excavations in soft clay on the immediate sourroundings-Analysis of the possibility to predict deformations and reactions against the retaining system

    Författare :Anders Kullingsjö; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MIT-S1; Sheet pile wall; Soil-structure interaction; Strain; Stress; Ground surface settlement; Finite element method; Case history; Shear test; Shear strength; Pore pressure; Analysis; Constitutive models; Plane strain; Elastoplasticity; Laboratory tests; Factor of safety; Stiffness; e-ADP; Earth pressure; Anisotropy; Soft Clay; Deep excavation; Retaining wall; Shear stress; Deformation;

    Sammanfattning : When excavating in an urban environment, the evaluation of the magnitude and distribution of ground movements is an important part of the design process, since excessive movements can damage adjacent buildings and utilities. In order to minimize movement of the surrounding soil, a retaining wall support system is used for deep excavations to provide lateral support. LÄS MER
