  1. 6. Neuromuscular aspects of eccentric knee extensor actions : effects of electrical stimulation, age, gender and training

    Författare :Jan Seger; Alf Thorstensson; Roger Enoka; Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physiology; Fysiologi; children; concentric; eccentric; efficiency; electrical stimulation; electromyography; growth; inhibition; isokinetic; specificity; strength; training;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to study the effects of electrical stimulation, age, gender and training on the torque- and EMG-velocity relationships during eccentric knee extensor muscle actions in man. An isokinetic custom-built dynamometer was evaluated and used throughout the thesis. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Effects of Ageing and Physical Activity on Regulation of Muscle Contraction

    Författare :Alexander Cristea; Lars Larsson; Anna-Stina Höglund; Ingrid Lundberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; ageing; sarcopenia; sprint training; progressive resistance training; in vivo function; isokinetic dynamometer; in vitro function; single permeabilised fibre; myonuclear domain; confocal microscopy; Medicine; Medicin;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this study were to investigate the mechanisms underlying (1) the ageing-related motor handicap at the whole muscle, cellular, contractile protein and myonuclear levels; and (2) ageing-related differences in muscle adaptability.In vivo muscles function was studied in the knee extensors. 3. 8. Organisationsutveckling genom ledarutbildning : en utvärdering av skolledarutbildningens första utbildningsomgångar

    Författare :Glenn Hultman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Organization Development; Management Training; Principal; Change Strategies; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : School leader training in Sweden is meant to act as one of several forces to improve the functioning of the school, and to develop the function and the personality of the school leader. The training programme is compulsory, continues for two years and consists of three parts - course periods, home periods, and society oriented practical experience. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Physical Training and Testing in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

    Författare :Ragnheiður Harpa Arnardóttir; Gunnar Boman; Kjell Larsson; Margareta Emtner; Hans Hedenström; Sven Larsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Physical therapy; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; pulmonary rehabilitation; physical training; endurance training; interval training; health-related quality of life; exercise testing; walking tests; physiotherapy; Sjukgymnastik;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aims of the studies were to investigate the effects of different training modalities on exercise capacity and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with moderate or severe COPD and, further, to explore two of the physical tests used in pulmonary rehabilitation.In study I, the 12-minute walking distance (12MWD) did not increase on retesting in patients with exercise-induced hypoxemia (EIH) whereas 12MWD increased significantly on retesting in the non-EIH patients. 5. 10. Mindfulness training supported by a restorative natural setting : Integrating individual and environmental approaches to the management of adaptive resources

    Författare :Freddie Lymeus; Terry Hartig; Per Lindberg; Mathew P. White; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Mindfulness; Restorative; Environment; Meditation; Setting; Training; Attention; Adaptation; Attention; Resource; Integration; Individual; Environmental; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis integrates restorative environments research and mindfulness research: two disparate but related approaches to managing the demands of modern living. Both offer ways to improve attention regulation by detaching from routine mental contents and engaging with present experience. LÄS MER
