1. Anomaly Detection and its Adaptation : Studies on Cyber-Physical Systems
Sammanfattning : Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are complex systems where physical operations are supported and coordinated by Information and Communication Technology (ICT).From the point of view of security, ICT technology offers new opportunities to increase vigilance and real-time responsiveness to physical security faults. 2. Towards Climate Based Early Warning and Response Systems for Malaria
Sammanfattning : Background: Great strides have been made in combating malaria, however, the indicators in sub Saharan Africa still do not show promise for elimination in the near future as malaria infections still result in high morbidity and mortality among children. The abundance of the malaria-transmitting mosquito vectors in these regions are driven by climate suitability. LÄS MER
3. The weakest link : Governing the risk of floods and dam failure in Sweden
Sammanfattning : The effects of climate change are already being felt today, and future effects, which will be determined by the readiness and resolve of today’s world leaders, are fraught with high levels of complexity, uncertainty, ambiguity, and transboundary effects – characteristics of systemic risk. Since climate change is seen as a threat multiplier, the risks that might be impacted by climate change, such as floods and dam failure, will be affected by systemic risk characteristics as well. 4. "Androm till varnagel-" : det tidigmoderna Stockholms folkliga rättskultur i ett komparativt perspektiv
Sammanfattning : The basic concept for my research is legal culture. Thus I do not confine my study to what has been labelled "historical criminology", but also include litigation in civil cases concerning economic conflicts. LÄS MER
5. Biosensor-based Methods for Detection of Microcystins as Early Warning Systems
Sammanfattning : Cyanobacteria blooms are a water menace since they produce potent toxins that have been implicated in poisonings and deaths of humans and animals after consumption or contact with cyanotoxin-contaminated water. Of particular concern are cyanotoxins called microcystins, which are hepatotoxic cyclic peptides known to promote development of liver tumors in humans and animals. LÄS MER
