    Sammanfattning : Architectural practitioners can avoid negative social and environmental impacts of new construction by making decisions supported by impact quantification during design processes. However, most software tools developed for such quantification see little use in practice, especially in early design stages when decisions have the greatest influence. LÄS MER

  3. 23. The first hour of life : description of the early reciprocal interaction : mother-infant behaviour and development of their mutual relationship

    Författare :Britt Wiberg; Umeå universitet; []

How are their adult lives impacted by a sudden improvement or worsening in their early-life conditions?This dissertation aims at providing some insights about how specific changes in early-life conditions can affect individuals’ lives in the long-term. It focuses on three very different shocks to early-life conditions: (1) exposure to disease and vaccination, studied through the case of polio and the vaccine against it, (2) experiencing forced migration, studied through the case of Yugoslavian refugees in Sweden, and (3) losing a parent during the childhood years.     Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; parent-child interaction; turn-taking; parental responsiveness; phonological development; phonological complexity; assessment of speech production; Phonetics; fonetik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on contingency in parent-child interaction, investigating it in the light of the linguistic capacity of the child and the status of the caregiver. Further, the thesis covers the development of two tools to assess the developmental maturity level of expressive phonology. LÄS MER
