  1. 6. Growth conditions and individual quality in starlings

    Författare :Martin Granbom; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Animal ecology; Djurekologi; cost of reproduction; individual quality; long-term effects; early condition; starling; Sturnus vulgaris;

    Sammanfattning : Variation in growth conditions during ontogeny may result in permanent differences in individual quality. This thesis focuses on how starlings are affected by environmental variation during the nestling period. Both landscape differences in food availability and experimental food supplementation affected survival and growth of nestlings. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Condition-Based Maintenance: Selection and Improvement of a Cost-Effective Vibration-Based Maintenance Policy for Rolling element Bearings

    Författare :Basim Al-Najjar; Sherwin David; Bo Bergman; Produktionsekonomi; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vibration and acoustic engineering; vacuum technology; hydraulics; Mechanical engineering; a cost-effective vibration-based maintenance policy.; Integrated maintenance; Condition monitoring and control; Total Time on Test-plots; Vibration monitoring; effectiveness and accuracy; Failure causes and mechanisms; Maintenance quality; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; Commercial and industrial economics; Industriell ekonomi; Maintenance Technology; Terotechnology;

    Sammanfattning : Modern machinery is expensive and therefore must run at high availability and effectiveness which cannot be achieved without an effective maintenance policy. Condition monitoring, (CM), techniques can be utilised to reduce or arrest the rate of deterioration of a component so increasing operating life. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Early correction of unilateral posterior crossbite : evidence-based evaluations of oral health related quality of life, cost-effectiveness and 3D treatment effects

    Författare :Ola Sollenius; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Malocclusion;

    Sammanfattning : Unilateral posterior crossbite (UPC) with functional shift is one ofthe most common malocclusions in mixed dentition. Left untreated,it may cause long-term effects on the growth and development of thejaws and teeth. Early orthodontic intervention is usually undertakento correct the condition at the primary or mixed dentition stage. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Young Children with Autism in a Multiethnic Immigrant Population. Prevalence, Feeding Disorders, Early Detection, and Intervention

    Författare :Petra Linnsand; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Autism; Young children; Immigrant Population; Prevalence; Feeding Disorders; ARFID; Early Detection and Intervention; Early Start Denver Model;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by a pattern of major impairments in social communication and behavioural/sensory problems, with high rates of coexisting neurodevelopmental and medical conditions. Over the past decade, there has been a documented rise in the registered prevalence of autism worldwide. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Early Palaeozoic jawed polychaetes with focus on polychaetaspids and ramphoprionids from the Silurian of Gotland, Sweden

    Författare :Mats Eriksson; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fysisk geografi; Geologi; physical geography; Geology; chemistry; palaeobiogeography; palaeoecology; taxonomy; apparatus reconstructions; Silurian; Recent; Ordovician; early Palaeozoic; scolecodonts; Annelida; polychaeta;

    Sammanfattning : Jawed polychaete annelid worms were abundant and diverse in the early Palaeozoic seas and their jaws (scolecodonts) are common microfossils in sedimentary rocks of that age. Despite their abundance, relatively little work has been focused on these fossils. LÄS MER
