  1. 1. Conformational Dynamics of Carbohydrates Studied by NMR Spectroscopy and Molecular Simulations

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Institutionen för organisk kemi

    Författare :Jennie Östervall; Stockholms universitet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbohydrates; NMR; Molecular Dynamics; Conformation; Dynamics; Residual Dipolar Couplings; Cyclodextrins; Oligosaccharides; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Organic chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Carbohydrates play important roles in biological processes. Their function is closely related to their conformation. In this thesis, conformational studies of carbohydrates by NMR spectroscopy and molecular dynamics computer simulations are described. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ultrafast Photo-induced Reaction Dynamics of Small Molecules

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Malin Kadi; Uppsala universitet.; [2003]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; pump-probe spectroscopy; reaction dynamics; photodissociation; aryl halides; spin-orbit coupling; ab initio calculations; molecular dynamics; vibrational wavepackets; Fysikalisk kemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Physical chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The main focus of this thesis is the investigation of the dissociation dynamics of aryl halides using femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy. In the monohalogenated aryl halides, iodo-, bromo- and chlorobenzene, the rate of dissociation following excitation at 266 nm in the gas phase increased with increasing mass of the halogen atom. 3. 3. Magnetization dynamics on the nanoscale From first principles to atomistic spin dynamics

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Jonathan Philippe Chico Carpio; Uppsala universitet.; [2016]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis first-principles methods, based on density functional theory, have been used to characterize a wide range of magnetic materials. Special emphasis has been put on pairwise magnetic interactions, such as Heisenberg exchange and Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions, and also on in the Gilbert damping parameter. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Dynamics of biological membranes and associated water

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Peter Berntsen; [2008]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dielectric spectroscopy; phase transition; glass transition; DSC; lipid bilayers; lipid dynamics; water dynamics; purple membrane; diffusion; polarisation; QENS.; relaxation; long-range conductivity;

    Sammanfattning : An ingenious assembly of biomolecules and water constitute what we call biological tissue. The presence of water in this assembly is fundamental for the physiological processes and can make the difference between life and death. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Diffusion-Induced Nonlinear Dynamics in Carbon Nanomechanical Resonators

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Christin Edblom; [2015]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mass sensing; graphene; stochastic differential equations; diffusion; carbon nanotubes; resonators; nanoelectromechanical systems; equations of motion; nonlinear dynamics; dissipation; Fokker-Planck equation; noise; nonequilibrium dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : The emergence of nanoelectromechanical systems has enabled the development of sensors capable of detecting mass, charge, force, position, and spin with an unprecedented precision. In particular, the low mass, high resonant frequency, and high quality factor of carbon nanomechanical resonators make them ideal for the creation of a high sensitivity mass sensor. LÄS MER
