  1. 1. Strength grading of structural timber and EWP laminations of Norway spruce : Development potentials

    Författare :Jan Oscarsson; Anders Olsson; Marie Johansson; Mikael Perstorper; SP Sveriges Tekniska Forskningsinstitut; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; bending strength; fibre angle; grain angle; knots; laser scanning; machine strength grading; modulus of elasticity; strain measurement; structural timber; tensile strength; wood; böjhållfasthet; draghållfasthet; elasticitetsmodul; fibervinkel; konstruktionsvirke; kvistar; laserskanning; maskinell hållfasthetssortering; trä; töjningsmätning; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Strength grading of structural timber is a process by which value is added to sawn products. It is to the greater part carried out using machine grading based on statistical relationships between so called indicating properties and bending strength. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Mehanics of Rock Fragmentation Static and Dynamic Laboratory Testing Applied to Aggregate Production

    Författare :Bahman Bohloli; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; anisotropy; aggregates; rock failure; saturation; Brazilian test; dynamic tensile strength; Hopkinson pressure bar; fragmentation; rock fines; crushing;

    Sammanfattning : Knowing the strength properties of rocks is essential for calculating the stability of natural slopes, constructions in and on rock, excavations, blasting geometry, crushing, and drilling. When rock and rock masses are subjected to either dynamic or static loads, the tensile strength is determined by tests appropriate to the load type. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Monotonic and Cyclic Plastic Deformation of High-Strength Aluminium Alloys

    Författare :Magnus Hörnqvist Colliander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strain rate effects; Heat treatment; Dynamic strain ageing; Precipitation hardening; Low cycle fatigue; AA7030; Plastic deformation; Temperature effects; EN AW-7030; Al-Zn-Mg; Strain hardening; Mechanical properties; Dynamic precipitation.;

    Sammanfattning : Dynamic strain ageing (DSA) and dynamic precipitation (DP) are two, closely interrelated, phenomena arising from the dynamic interaction between mobile solute atoms and dislocations. The occurrence of DSA and DP is confined to specific ranges of strain rate and temperature, and aluminium alloys are generally prone to experience DSA and DP already at ambient temperatures and conventional strainrates. 4. 4. Biobased and biodegradable binders for paper and nonwoven

    Författare :Maria Wennman; Mikael S. Hedenqvist; Anna Justina Svagan; Mårten Hellberg; Wim Thielemans; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polyelectrolyte complex; binder; chitosan; carboxymethyl cellulose; citric acid; nonwoven; tensile strength; hydrophobicity; Polyelektrolytkomplex; bindemedel; kitosan; karboximetylcellulosa; citronsyra; nonwoven; dragstyrka; hydrofobicitet; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Nonwovens are textile-like materials with similarities close to paper. One significant sector where nonwovens are used is for single-use products such as wet wipes and hygiene products. With an increasing global population, the manufacturing and use of nonwovens have grown significantly. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Heterogeneous Bonded Particle Modelling of Rock Fracture

    Författare :Albin Wessling; Jörgen Kajberg; Simon Larsson; Pär Jonsén; Timo Saksala; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rock; DEM; BPM; fracture; drilling; dynamic; Solid Mechanics; Hållfasthetslära;

    Sammanfattning : The dynamic fracture process of rock materials is of importance for several industries, such as the rock drilling process in geothermal and mining applications. Gaining knowledge and understanding of dynamic rock fracture through numerical simulations can enhance the rock drilling process, for example by optimising the drill bit geometry and drilling parameters.
