1. Dynamic Sulfur Chemistry : Screening, Evaluation and Catalysis
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the design, formation and evaluation of dynamic systems constructed by means of sulfur-containing reversible reactions, in organic and aqueous media and under mild conditions. In a first part, the synthesis of thioglycoside derivatives, constituting the biologically relevant starting components of the dynamic systems, is described. LÄS MER
2. Reversible Sulfur Reactions in Pre-Equilibrated and Catalytic Self-Screening Dynamic Combinatorial Chemistry Protocols
Sammanfattning : Dynamic Combinatorial Chemistry (DCC) is a recently introduced supramolecular approach to generate dynamically interchanging libraries of compounds. These libraries are made of different building blocks that reversibly interact with one another and spontaneously assemble to encompass all possible combinations. LÄS MER
3. Investigation of Coordination Modes of Organosulfur Ligands to osmium and Rhodium Carbonyl Clusters- Possible Relevance to Hydrodesulfurization Reactions
Sammanfattning : The coordination and fundamental transformations of organosulfur compounds to polynuclear metal complexes has been studied as models for possible surface species in industrial HDS processes. Reactions between [Os3(CO)11(NCMe)] and various thiols have been studied by UV-Vis, IR and NMR spectroscopy and all experimental findings indicate that the reactions proceed via a two-step consecutive process involving the intermediate [Os3(CO)11(RSH)], which contains an agostic Os-H-S interaction, and which leads to the formation of the final product [Os3(CO)10(m-H)(m-SR)]. 4. Optical Diagnostics for Quantitative Potassium Chemistry in Biomass Thermochemical Conversion Processes
Sammanfattning : Biomass is an essential sustainable and carbon-neutral energy source. Through thermochemical conversion processes, such as combustion and gasification, biomass can generally be used in boilers to provide heat and/or power. Biomass fuels contain varying amounts of potassium, chlorine and sulfur. LÄS MER
