1. Impartial Games and Recursive Functions
Sammanfattning : Interest in 2-player impartial games often concerns the famous theory of Sprague-Grundy. In this thesis we study other aspects, bridging some gaps between combinatorial number theory, computer science and combinatorial games. LÄS MER
2. Selfish Dynamic Spectrum Access in Multichannel Wireless Networks : Complete and incomplete information analysis
Sammanfattning : The increasing popularity and widespread deployment of wireless data systems fuel the increasing demand for more spectrum. On the other hand, various studies measuring spectrum utilization show that there is a huge variation in spectrum utilization at different times and locations. LÄS MER
3. Sequences and games generalizing the combinatorial game of Wythoff Nim
Sammanfattning : One single Queen is placed on an arbitrary starting position of a (large) Chess board. Two players alternate in moving the Queen as in a game of Chess but with the restriction that the $L^1$ distance to the lower left corner, position $(0,0)$, must decrease. The player who moves there wins. Let $\phi =\frac{1+\sqrt{5}}{2}$, the golden ratio. LÄS MER
4. Gameplay (3D Game Engine + Ray Tracing = Visual Attention through Eye Tracking)
Sammanfattning : Research into gameplay can contribute to more self-conscious approaches to design, allowing designers to create effective gameplay with less testing, or to target specific cognitive and emotional affects of gameplay for serious games applications. Self-conscious design includes theoretically motivated design of game systems to facilitate gameplay motivated by cognitive, scientific and/or rhetorical theories of game affect and functionality. 5. Managing Digital Open Innovation with User Communities : A Study of Community Sensing and Product Openness Capabilities in the Video Game Industry
Sammanfattning : Digital and open innovation has changed how product innovation occur and how it is managed by firms. Digital technology as an enabler of increasingly distributed innovation processes has in particular impacted firms’ abilities to draw on, and leverage, large numbers of external users and user communities to develop their offerings.
