  1. 6. On potentials and limitations of perfusion MRI in neurological disorders

    Författare :Markus Fahlström; Mark Lubberink; Adam Espe Hansen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurological disease; MRI; Perfusion; 15O-water PET; Medicinsk radiofysik; Medical Radiophysics;

    Sammanfattning : Cerebral perfusion outlines several parameters which describe the status of cerebral haemodynamics. Numerous neurological diseases affect cerebral perfusion, thus the importance of diagnostic measurements. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Cerebral arterial pulsatility imaging using 4D flow MRI : methodological development and applications in brain aging

    Författare :Tomas Vikner; Anders Wåhlin; Anders Eklund; Jan Malm; Lars Nyberg; Susanne Schnell; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Magnetic resonance imaging; 4D flow MRI; medical image analysis; cerebral hemodynamics; arterial pulsatility; DCE MRI; blood-brain barrier; white matter lesions; perivascular spaces; cerebral small vessel disease; hippocampus; cognition; aging; biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap; Biomedical Radiation Science;

    Sammanfattning : 4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly recognizedas a versatile tool to assess arterial and venous hemodynamics. Cerebral arterial pulsatility is typically assessed by analyzing flow waveforms over the cardiac cycle, where flow amplitude is a function of cardiac output, central arterial stiffness, and cerebrovascular resistance and compliance. 3. 8. Non-Invasive Assessment of Liver Fibrosis with 31P-Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Dynamic Contrast Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging

    Författare :Bengt Norén; Staffan Wirell; Peter Lundberg; Peter Leander; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The present study aims at demonstrating phosphorus metabolite concentration changes and alterations in uptake/excretion of a hepatocyte specific contrast agent in patients with diffuse - or suspected diffuse - liver disease by applying two non-invasive quantitative MR techniques and to compare the results with histo-pathological findings, with focus on liver fibrosis.In the first study phosphorus-31 MR spectroscopy using slice selection (DRESS) was implemented. 4. 9. Methodological aspects of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging

    Författare :Tanja Kero; Mark Lubberink; Håkan Ahlström; Elin Trägårdh; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :PET; cardiac amyloidosis; 11C-PIB; retention index; standardized uptake value; PET-MR; MRI; myocardial blood flow; 15O-water; quantification; quantitative modeling;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this research was to facilitate the use of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging by developing and validating methods and applications. More specifically:we determined the optimal tracer kinetic model for analysis of 11C-PIB and evaluated the performance of two simpler measures, retention index (RI) and standardized uptake value (SUV), in the quantification of cardiac 11C-PIB uptake in amyloidosis. 5. 10. Alternative Methods for Assessment of Split Renal Function

    Författare :Henrik Björkman; Anders Magnusson; Jonas Wadström; Torbjörn Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Radiology; Split renal function; Live kidney donor; CT; Renography; Dynamic MRI; Renal volume; Respiratory triggering; Radiologisk forskning;

    Sammanfattning : Living kidney donation is a clinical situation with unique features in the sense that healthy individuals voluntarily expose themselves to certain risks and inconveniences. Therefore, eliminating as much of the associated discomfort as possible is crucial. LÄS MER
