    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Accidental dural puncture; post-dural puncture headache; epidural blood patch; obstetrics; Anestesiologi; Anaesthesiology; Kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Post-dural puncture headache (PDPH) is the most common complication of obstetric epidural analgesia. The diagnosis is clinical without the possibility of confirmatory objective tests. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Transvascular fluid exchange with application to the brain. An experimental study in cat skeletal muscle and brain

    Författare :Lis Kongstad; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurologi; neurophysiology; neuropsychology; Neurology; intensivvård; capillary filtration coefficient; Capillary permeability; reflection coefficient; brain edema; dural puncture; Anaesthesiology; Anestesiologi; intensive care; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : This study evaluated transcapillary fluid exchange in the cat brain and in a cat skeletal muscle enclosed in a plethysmograph. A method for determination of capillary permeability (capillary filtration coefficient and reflection coefficient) and effects of transcapillary hydrostatic pressure changes were studied We found that capillary fluid permeability in a tissue can be determined by the capillary filtration coefficient, even when arterial pressure and vascular tone are changed. 3. 3. Central-block techniques for reliet of labour pain

    Författare :Susanne Ledin Eriksson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Access to effective pain relief is today a natural part of modem obstetrics. When epidurals for relief of labour pain were introduced during the 1970s, local anaesthetics in high concentrations were used. This caused extensive motor block, affecting propulsive ability during second stage, with increased risk of caesarean and instrumental delivery. LÄS MER
