  1. 1. Above Ground Durability of Swedish Softwood

    Författare :Åsa Blom; Mikael Bergström; Thomas Thörnqvist; Birger Eikenes; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :above ground; durability; field test; mass loss; Mycologg; Norway spruce; permeability; Picea abies; Pinus sylvestris; Scots pine; FORESTRY; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES and LANDSCAPE PLANNING; SKOGS- och JORDBRUKSVETENSKAP samt LANDSKAPSPLANERING;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes aspects of durability of Swedish softwood in above ground applications. The thesis consists of a summary of nine papers, which all aim to explain the existing variation in above ground microbial durability and moisture sensitivity of Norway spruce (Picea abies) and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris). 2. 2. Fundamentals of a Methodology for Predictive Design Analysis

    Författare :Martin Eriksson; Innovation; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Predictive design analysis; Generic design analysis process model; Confidence appraisal activities; Computer-based design analysis; Engineering design; Integration;

    Sammanfattning : The rapid development of computer-based design analysis tools and methods such as the finite element method (FEM) within computational structural mechanics (CSM), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and multi-body systems (MBS) during recent decades has fundamentally changed the way in which products are designed and developed. Among the many advantages observed in industrial practice, one can mention improved understanding of product properties and behavior, the possibility to optimize critical design parameters and to optimize parts as well as the entire product at a system level, the possibility to explore a design space during the synthesis activity, and a decrease of the need for physical testing and thus of the number of physical prototypes needed. 3. 3. Service life estimation in building design : A development of the factor method

    Författare :Björn Marteinsson; Christer Sjöström; Michael A. Lacasse; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Construction engineering; factor method; service life prediction; durability; degradation; Byggnadsteknik; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The built environment usually constitutes a very important part of the real capital of a nation, and the construction sector represents more than 10% of the yearly Gross National Product of the industrialised world. Good planning of all construction is important, and consideration of the service life of the work is of great interest and is a significant aspect of sustainability considerations. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hygrothermal Durability of Adhesively Bonded FRP/steel Joints

    Författare :Mohsen Heshmati; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cohesive zone modelling; durability; moisture diffusion; Fibre reinforced polymer; adhesively bonded FRP steel joints; long-term performance;

    Sammanfattning : Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites offer superior mechanical properties, such as specific strength and stiffness, corrosion resistance and light weight. Over the past four dec-ades, FRPs have been increasingly used for strengthening and repair of bridge structures, and more recently, in the manufacture of whole/hybrid FRP bridges. LÄS MER
