2. Large-Scale Production and Use of Biomethane
Sammanfattning : Societal ambitions to create an economy based on renewable resources, require the development of technologies transforming these resources into energy-carrying products and biomaterials. Dual fluidized bed (DFB) gasification represents a key technology for achieving sustainability targets, as it is a scalable and highly efficient route for the conversion of biomass. LÄS MER
3. Added value from biomass by broader utilization of fuels and CHP plants
Sammanfattning : The present work, where additional value-creating processes in existing combined heat and power (CHP) structures have been examined, is motivated by a political- and consumer-driven strive towards a bioeconomy and a stagnation for the existing business models in large parts of the CHP sector. The research is based on cases where the integration of flash pyrolysis for co-production of bio-oil, co-gasification for production of fuel gas and synthetic biofuels as well as leaching of extractable fuel components in existing CHP plants have been simulated. 4. Hyperthermia-responsive liposomal systems
Sammanfattning : Abstract Sophisticated liposomal systems are emerging at an increasing rate to meet the demands for multifunctional drug carriers in chemotherapies in combined with hyperthermia. For example, liposomal drug carriers for temperature-controlled drug release under hyperthermic conditions have recently been tested in clinical trials. LÄS MER
5. Modelling of Turbulent Flow and Heat Transfer Phenomena in Pipes of District Heating Systems Including Transient Temperature Propagation
Sammanfattning : Modern district heating systems, a carbon lean technology, involves dual usage of the energy due to the possibility to redistribute heat derived from numerous sources, such as industrial processes, refuse incineration, geothermal sources and combined heat and power plants. Such heat source flexibility facilitates the optimal usage of energy resources by varying the amount of purchased heat depending on demand, price and availability. LÄS MER
