1. Chromatographic studies of the human red cell glucose transporter in sodium dodecyl sulfate and in octyl glucoside
Sammanfattning : .... LÄS MER
2. Studies on Diffusion of Surfactants and Macromolecules
Sammanfattning : A new apparatus for measuring the translational diffusion coefficient in liquids at steady state is presented. The advantages of the described technique are i. the ability to characterize the dependence of the diffusion coefficient on concentration with a single experiment, and ii. LÄS MER
3. The effects of exposure to microplastics and pollutants on the arthropod microbiome
Sammanfattning : Anthropogenic pollution is widespread across various ecosystems. This disturbance can alter the interaction between a host and its associated microbiome, with repercussions for hosts traits such as health, behavior, and host evolution. LÄS MER
4. Upgrading Cellulose Networks: Conquering Limitations in Fiber Foams
Sammanfattning : The battle to create structural materials with low environmental impact demands the investiture of two champions: porous structures and cellulose substrates. The dominant solutions when constructing strong lightweight materials are plastic and metallic foams, while currently, cellulose fiber foams suffer from challenges which hamper their development. 5. Association Phenomena in Aqueous Solutions of Surfactants and Hydrophobically Modified Polymers
Sammanfattning : Interactions between ionic surfactants (sodium dodecyl sulfate and dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride) and nonionic polymers ((hydroxyethyl)cellulose, ethyl(hydroxyethyl)cellulose and their hydrophobically modified analogous) have been studied by means of rheology, pulsed field gradient nuclear magnetic resonance (PFG NMR), time-resolved fluorescence quenching (TRFQ), dynamic light scattering (DLS) and cryo-transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM). In all experiments surfactants have been added in various amounts to polymer solutions at fixed concentrations. LÄS MER
