    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the health-related quality of life (HRQL) among surgically treated oesophageal cancer patients. The established curative treatment for oesophageal cancer is extensive surgery with a high risk of morbidity and a limited chance of long-term survival.     Sammanfattning : The aim of this licentiate thesis is to evaluate the normal-ordered two-body (NO2B)-approximation as a computationally promising way to incorporate realistic three-nucleon forces (3NFs) in nuclear many-body simulations using the no-core-shell-model.     Sammanfattning : Predation imposes a potent evolutionary force on prey, moulding the evolution of traits and diversification of species, and can furthermore have powerful ecological consequences.
