1. Synthesis and modification of monodisperse polymer particles for chromatography
Sammanfattning : Liquid chromatography is an analytical technique that is constantly facing new challenges in the separation of small molecules and large biomacromolecules. Recently the development of ultra high pressure liquid chromatography has increased the demand on sturdy particles as stationary phase. LÄS MER
2. Porous polymeric materials for chromatography : Synthesis, functionalization and characterization
Sammanfattning : Background: Separation science is heavily reliant on materials to fulfill ever more complicated demands raised by other areas of science, notably the rapidly expanding molecular biosciences and environmental monitoring. The key to successful separations lies in a combination of physical properties and surface chemistry of stationary phases used in liquid chromatographic separation, and this thesis address both aspects of novel separation materials. 3. Synthesis and modifications of materials for separation science
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the preparation of materials for use in separation science and their surface modification by grafting. The overall aim is the preparation of diverse materials by combination of a set of developed tools. LÄS MER
4. C-H Activation Reactions Mediated by Pd Based Heterogeneous Catalysts : Regioselective Formation of C-O and C-X Bonds
Sammanfattning : New classes of N-heterocyclic carbene-palladium(II) complexes containing either a vinyl group in different positions or an anthracene tag in the backbone of the N-heterocycle were synthesized and fully characterized. The vinyl based complexes were copolymerized with divinylbenzene to fabricate robust polymer-supported NHC-Pd(II) systems, while the anthracene based complexes were π-stacked onto the surface of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) producing immobilized catalysts with interesting features. 5. Analytical methods for studying polychlorinated naphtalene congener profiles and levels in the Environment
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the development, refinement and application of analytical techniques in conjunction with other methods for studying the environmental occurrence, distribution and transformation of polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCNs). The procedures involve selective high-performance liquid chromatographic fractionation on a styrene-divinylbenzene gel permeation column and 2-(1-pyrenyl)ethyldimethylsilylated silica column combined with high resolution gas chromatography and low resolution mass spectrometry.
