2. Small District Heating Systems
Sammanfattning : The objective of this work is to identify, from an economical point of view, the optimal system design and operation strategy for the district heating of a small residential area. The applied methodology is an overall approach on the heat distribution system, the house connection and the space heating system in the building, i.e. LÄS MER
3. Low-temperature District Heating : Various Aspects of Fourth-generation Systems
Sammanfattning : With decreasing heat demand and less availability of high-temperature heat supply in future energy systems, the current district heating systems may experience increased competition on the heat market. A viable option to mitigate increasing competition is to operate systems with lower temperature levels, and the most conceivable way to achieve lower temperature levels is to decrease return temperatures. 4. Comparative Assessment of Fuel-Based Systems for Space Heating
Sammanfattning : Replacing fossil fuels by biofuels and increasing energy efficiency are often considered to be options for reducing the net emission of greenhouse gases. This thesis presents the results of analyses of energy efficiency, emission and cost of whole energy system chains, from the natural resource to the end user when heating detached houses in a Swedish context. 5. District heating in future Europe : Modelling expansion potentials and mapping heat synergy regions
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a set of methodologies and approaches to investigate and determine the extent by which district heating can contribute to improved energy system efficiency and reduced carbon dioxide emissions in future Europe. The main motivation for suggesting large-scale implementation of district heating as a structural energy efficiency measure to obtain these objectives originates essentially in the predicament that a majority of European buildings today remain highly dependent on fossil fuels to provide energy needed for space heating and hot water preparation.
