  1. 1. Low-temperature District Heating : Various Aspects of Fourth-generation Systems

    Författare :Helge Averfalk; Sven Werner; Brian Elmegaard; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; District heating; low temperature; three-pipe systems; 4GDH-3P; District heating; low temperature; three-pipe systems; 4GDH-3P;

    Sammanfattning : With decreasing heat demand and less availability of high-temperature heat supply in future energy systems, the current district heating systems may experience increased competition on the heat market. A viable option to mitigate increasing competition is to operate systems with lower temperature levels, and the most conceivable way to achieve lower temperature levels is to decrease return temperatures. 2. 2. Modelling District Heating Network Costs

    Författare :Luis Sánchez-García; Urban Persson; Helge Averfalk; Erik Möllerström; Marcus Thern; Magnus Åberg; Sweden Lund Lund University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; District Heating; Pipe network; Cost analysis; Distribution Capital Cost; Effective Width; Plot Ratio; Heat Density; GIS; Smart Cities and Communities; Smarta städer och samhällen;

    Sammanfattning : The solution of the undergoing climate and energy crises requires a radical transformation of the energy system, in which sustainability, no carbon emissions and energy efficiency ought to play a paramount role. This revolution should extend to all areas of the energy system, including the space heating and cooling sector, which accounts for a third of the European final energy demand and, in the European continent, it is still mostly supplied by fossil fuels. 3. 3. District heating comes to town : The social shaping of an energy system

    Författare :Jane Summerton; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; district heating; municipal technology; energy system; pipeline; large t<:chnical system; actor network; multiorganization; grid; grid-based energy system; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the introduction of district heating in an "ordinary" Swedish town: Mjölby. The process was initiated in 1974 and the decision to build was taken in 1979. In the following years pipelines were laid down and the system was gradually built. In 1987, a permanent heat plant was ready to assume operation. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Solar District Heating for Low Energy Residential Areas : A Technical Analysis of Heat Distribution Concepts for a Solar Assisted District Heating System

    Författare :Martin Andersen; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Other Environmental Engineering; Energy Systems; District heating; simulation; renewable energy; solar thermal; 4DH; SHINE; SHINE;

    Sammanfattning : The integration of a solar thermal system into a district heating network can be a cost-effective solution, especially for new low-energy residential areas. Because of this, many new small solar district heating systems are built at the same time as the buildings, allowing for a more holistic approach to the design and construction. LÄS MER

  5. 5. District Heating Development : Prosumers and Bottlenecks

    Författare :Lisa Brange; Värmeöverföring; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; District heating; Prosumers; Bottlenecks; Pressure; Differential pressure; Planning; Simulations;

    Sammanfattning : The overarching objective of the studies in this thesis is to solve issues associated with the current district heating development in order to improve the efficiency, and thus the environmental performance, of district heating systems. More specifically, the aim is to solve issues related to prosumers and bottlenecks in district heating networks. LÄS MER
