  1. 1. Small District Heating Systems

    Författare :Jochen Dahm; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; model calibration; small residential area; dynamic simulation; district heating;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this work is to identify, from an economical point of view, the optimal system design and operation strategy for the district heating of a small residential area. The applied methodology is an overall approach on the heat distribution system, the house connection and the space heating system in the building, i.e. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Restructured district heating price models and their impact on district heating users

    Författare :Jingjing Song; Björn Karlsson; Fredrik Wallin; Hailong Li; Heimo Zinko; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; district heating; restructured price model; price model survey; pricing strategy; consumption profile; consumption pattern; alternative cost; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : District heating (DH) is considered to be an efficient, environmentally friendly and cost-effective method for providing heat to buildings, since electricity is usually co-generated in biomass fuelled combined heat and power (CHP) plants. This gives it an important role in the mitigation of climate change. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modelling District Heating Network Costs

    Författare :Luis Sánchez-García; Urban Persson; Helge Averfalk; Erik Möllerström; Marcus Thern; Magnus Åberg; Sweden Lund Lund University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; District Heating; Pipe network; Cost analysis; Distribution Capital Cost; Effective Width; Plot Ratio; Heat Density; GIS; Smart Cities and Communities; Smarta städer och samhällen;

    Sammanfattning : The solution of the undergoing climate and energy crises requires a radical transformation of the energy system, in which sustainability, no carbon emissions and energy efficiency ought to play a paramount role. This revolution should extend to all areas of the energy system, including the space heating and cooling sector, which accounts for a third of the European final energy demand and, in the European continent, it is still mostly supplied by fossil fuels. 4. 4. District heating in future Europe : Modelling expansion potentials and mapping heat synergy regions

    Författare :Urban Persson; Sven Werner; Lars J. Nilsson; Sweden Gothenburg Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; district heating; energy efficiency; distribution capital cost; heat demand density; plot ratio; excess heat recovery; sequential energy supply; heat utilisation rate; effective width;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a set of methodologies and approaches to investigate and determine the extent by which district heating can contribute to improved energy system efficiency and reduced carbon dioxide emissions in future Europe. The main motivation for suggesting large-scale implementation of district heating as a structural energy efficiency measure to obtain these objectives originates essentially in the predicament that a majority of European buildings today remain highly dependent on fossil fuels to provide energy needed for space heating and hot water preparation. 5. 5. Importance of the demand-supply balance in district heating systems

    Författare :Dmytro Romanchenko; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flexibility; Space heating; demand response; buildings; optimisation; thermal energy storage; district heating;

    Sammanfattning : In line with global efforts directed against climate change, the building sector will have to undergo significant changes in terms of its energy use, along with the transformation of the energy system. The scope of this thesis is limited to the energy supply and demand within district heating (DH) systems, with the emphasis on the space heating demand in buildings. LÄS MER
