  1. 11. Social capital and well-being in the transitional setting of Ukraine

    Författare :Kateryna Karhina; Malin Eriksson; Nawi Ng; Mehdi Ghazinour; Mikael Rostila; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; social capital; social support; volunteering; transformation; crisis; military conflict; transitional; well-being; health; inequality; Ukraine; socialt kapital; socialt stöd; volontärarbete; omvandling; kris; militär konflikt; övergångssamhälle; Ukraina; välbefinnande; hälsa; ojämlikhet; folkhälsa; Public health;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The military conflict in Ukraine that started in 2014 was accompanied with many changes in the political, economic and social spheres. It brought informal volunteering activities (i.e. one form of social capital) to emerge, function and later to be formalized, in order to support soldiers and their families. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Exploration of Supraventricular Conduction with respect to Atrial Fibrillation. Methodological Aspects on Selected Techniques

    Författare :Jonas Carlson; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Signal processing; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; Correlation Function Analysis; Transformation; Modeling; P wave Morphology; Signal; Conduction; Human; Atrial Fibrillation; Signalbehandling; Electrocardiography;

    Sammanfattning : Atrial fibrillation is the most common cardiac arrhythmia that demands medical attention. Computer-based detailed analysis of cardiac electrical signals from healthy subjects and patients with a history of atrial fibrillation has become an important tool in the further clarification of this disease. 3. 13. Improved pharmacometric model building techniques

    Författare :Radojka Savic; Mats Karlsson; Siv Jönsson; Matt Hutmacher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Model building; Absorption model; Transit compartment model; Nonparametric method; Extended grid method; Semiparametric; Distribution transformation; Shrinkage; Model diagnostics;

    Sammanfattning : Pharmacometric modelling is an increasingly used method for analysing the outcome from clinical trials in drug development. The model building process is complex and involves testing, evaluating and diagnosing a range of plausible models aiming to make an adequate inference from the observed data and predictions for future studies and therapy. 4. 14. An investigation into ocean thermodynamics and water-mass transformation

    Författare :Magnus Hieronymus; Nycander Jonas; Stephen Griffies; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ocean thermodynamics; water-mass transformation; buoyancy; atmosfärvetenskap och oceanografi; Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents oceanic budgets of potential temperature, salinity and buoyancy as well as a novel way of diagnosing water-mass transformation in salinity-temperature space. The buoyancy of seawater is given by a nonlinear function of temperature, salinity and pressure and much of the work in this thesis revolves around how fluxes of heat and salinity influence the buoyancy of seawater through these nonlinearities. 5. 15. Martensitic Transformation in High Carbon Steels - Martensite Tetragonality and Impact of Cooling Rate

    Författare :Thomas Kohne; Annika Borgenstam; Peter Hedström; Jilt Sietsma; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High carbon steel; Martensitic transformation; Martensite tetragonality; Fatigue performance; Materials Science and Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Case-hardened gears are an essential part of our every day life in their role of power transmission in cars and heavy-duty trucks. The increasing use of low pressure carburizing (LPC) for case-hardening in combination with high pressure gas quenching (HPGQ) for cooling opens new possibilities in the design of heat treatments for improved fatigue performance.
