6. Interoperability Infrastructure and Incremental learning for unreliable heterogeneous communicating Systems
Sammanfattning : In a broader sense the main research objective of this thesis (and ongoing research work) is distributed knowledge management for mobile dynamic systems. But the primary focus and presented work focuses on communication/interoperability of heterogeneous entities in an infrastructure less paradigm, a distributed resource manipulation infrastructure and distributed learning in the absence of global knowledge. 7. Optimal Scheduling for Timely Information in Communication Systems
Sammanfattning : The explosive growth of data in information society poses significant challenges in the timely delivery of information in the context of communication networks. Hence, optimal utilization of scarce network resources is crucial. LÄS MER
8. The effectiveness of a full-mobility architecture for wireless mobile computing and personal communications
Sammanfattning : The emergence of wireless mobile computing, especially the mobility of computers, introduces challenging new problems that were encountered in neither the design and implementation of conventional mobile networks or in fixed computer networks. A critical and challenging problem, for mobile computing and personal communications, is how to fully cope with the special characteristics of the mobile wireless environment, i. LÄS MER
9. Resource Allocation in Operator-owned Content Delivery Systems
Sammanfattning : Live and on-demand video content have become the most important source of network traffic in mobile and fixed networks in recent years. In order to be able to efficiently deliver the increasing amount of video content, network operators have started to deploy caches and operator-owned CDNs. LÄS MER
10. Wolverine ecology and conservation in the Western United States
Sammanfattning : Successful conservation of rare species requires an understanding of the niche, knowledge of the scale over which a viable population exists, and a system that provides adequate funding to take the necessary actions. I radio-marked wolverines in the Yellowstone Ecosystem and examined spatial ecology and reproductive chronology from an evolutionary perspective to better define the wolverine niche. LÄS MER
