21. A model of attention selection in driving
Sammanfattning : Inattention is one of the most common factors contributing to road crashes. However, the basic mechanisms behind inattention and how it leads to crashes are still relatively poorly understood. LÄS MER
22. I Don’t Want to Hear It : Cognitive Control Strategies in Response to Task-Irrelevant Sound
Sammanfattning : An adequate capacity for cognitive control, the ability to maintain goal-directed behavior despite conflicting environmental demands, is a requirement for effective functioning. Whether it be the capacity to delay gratification or to effectively regulate emotions, various types of cognitive control allow us to function effectively despite the enormous complexity encountered in everyday life. 23. Osteotomy for gonarthrosis - with special reference to the tibial callus distraction technique
Sammanfattning : Osteotomy is used for correction of the altered load on the gonarthrotic knee joint. It can be performed above or below the knee. Clinical results depend on the correction after bone healing. LÄS MER
24. Static and Dynamic Load Response of the Lumbar Spine in Flexion
Sammanfattning : The aims of this study were to develop experimental methods for static and dynamic loading of spinal segments in vitro that would simulate flexion-distraction injuries (lap seat-belt injuries) and increase knowledge about the biomechanical response and the mechanisms of injury of the lumbar spine under static and dynamic (transient) loads in flexion. The experiments were carried out on the lumbar functional spinal unit (FSU) consisting of two adjacent vertebrae, the intervertebral disc and all intervening ligaments. LÄS MER
25. The driver and the instrument panel
Sammanfattning : The trend today is to produce automobiles that have exciting systems which enhance the users' driving experiences, however, the distraction potential of these systems has not fully been considered. Since there can be large differences in the driver's level of distraction caused by visual overload due to individual and cultural characteristics. LÄS MER
