1. Modeling Width in Spatial Optimization in Raster Space
Sammanfattning : Given a grid of cells, each of which is assigned a numerical value quantifying its utility (or cost) for a certain use, a popular type of problem in geographic information science is raster-based spatial optimization. Such problems commonly seek to find a set of cells that maximizes (or minimizes) that utility (or cost) while adhering to a given set of constraints. LÄS MER
2. Modeling and optimization of least-cost corridors
Sammanfattning : Given a grid of cells, each having a value indicating its cost per unit area, a variant of the least-cost path problem is to find a corridor of a specified width connecting two termini such that its cost-weighted area is minimized. A computationally efficient method exists for finding such corridors, but as is the case with conventional raster-based least-cost paths, their incremental orientations are limited to a fixed number of (typically eight orthogonal and diagonal) directions, and therefore, regardless of the grid resolution, they tend to deviate from those conceivable on the Euclidean plane. 3. Structural aspecs on compounds in the CsI-(Cd/Hg)I2 system
Sammanfattning : Structural investigations of compounds in the CsI-(Cd/Hg)I2 system have been performed by means of X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric and calorimetric techniques. Crystals of the compounds studied were synthesized from aqueous solutions of CsI and CdI2/HgI2 by the slow evaporation of water. LÄS MER
4. High-End Performance with Low-End Hardware : Analysis of Massive MIMO Base Station Transceivers
Sammanfattning : Massive MIMO (multiple-input–multiple-output) is a multi-antenna technology for cellular wireless communication, where the base station uses a large number of individually controllable antennas to multiplex users spatially. This technology can provide a high spectral efficiency. LÄS MER
5. Synthesis, Coding, and Evaluation of 3D Images Based on Integral Imaging
Sammanfattning : In recent years camera prototypes based on Integral Imaging (II) have emerged that are capable of capturing three-dimensional (3D) images. When being viewed on a 3D display, these II-pictures convey depth and content that realistically change perspective as the viewer changes the viewing position. LÄS MER
