1. Borrowing the Bat's Ear for Automation - Ultrasonic Measurements in an Industrial Environment
Sammanfattning : This work focuses on measurement principles based on ultrasound for applications in industrial automation. The measurements made are of geometric nature. The methods used are when possible based on experience and/or inspiration from the study of bats. LÄS MER
2. Asymmetry and the moderating effects of formal institutional distance on the relationship between cultural distance and performance of foreign subsidiaries in Latin America
Sammanfattning : This study investigates how Cultural and Formal Institutional distances and their interaction affect the performance of multinational foreign subsidiaries in Latin America. It is shown that using Kogut and Singh (1988) index or attributing the positive and negative signals to distances in opposite directions fail to capture asymmetric effects as it assumes either symmetry or opposing symmetry. 3. Inductive measurement of narrow gaps for high precision welding of square butt joints
Sammanfattning : A recent method in aero engine production is to fabricate components from smaller pieces, rather than machining them from large castings. This has made laser beam welding popular, offering high precision with low heat input and distortion, but also high productivity. LÄS MER
4. Supply Chain Integration through Performance Measurement
Sammanfattning : This Ph.D. thesis is about how the design of measurement systems may influence-or even drive-the integration of firms in supply chains, and is based on research presented in my licentiate thesisR. LÄS MER
5. Assessment of active commuting behaviour : walking and bicycling in Greater Stockholm
Sammanfattning : Walking and bicycling to work, active commuting, can contribute to sustainable mobility and provide regular health-enhancing physical activity for individuals. Our knowledge of active commuting behaviours in general and in different mode and gender groups in particular is limited. LÄS MER
