Sammanfattning : This study is an attempt to develop a model within the field of ecology of religion. Particular emphasis is laid on the need for a comprehensive theoretical point of departure with regard to dynamics, viz. contextuality, situationality and the interactive mecanisms in adaptive processes. The model is developed on a basis of P. LÄS MER
22. Pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes -role of defects in insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity
Sammanfattning : Type 2 diabetes is characterised by defects in insulin sensitivity, insulin secretion and increased endogenous glucose production. The relative contribution of each of these defects remains controversial. LÄS MER
23. Antidepressant drug effects in vivo: Focus on pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic responses in different experimental paradigms
Sammanfattning : Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic activities of the antidepressants venlafaxine (VEN) and citalopram (CIT) were investigated in the portacaval shunted (PCS) rat, a model of chronic hepatic encephalopathy (HE), and normal/control rats. The levels of VEN in serum and brain were higher in PCS rats than in controls after a single injection and chronic treatment with VEN (10 mg/kg). LÄS MER

25. In vivo Pharmacokinetics of Two New Thrombin Inhibitor Prodrugs : Emphasis on Intestinal and Hepatobiliary Disposition and the Influence of Interacting Drugs
Sammanfattning : Biliary excretion is an important elimination route for many drugs and metabolites. For such compounds, it is important to know the extent of excretion and drug exposure in the bile, e.g., for the risk assessment of drug interactions, liver toxicity and the effects of genetic variants.
