11. Characterization of nano-scale materials for interconnect and thermal dissipation application in electronics packaging
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on studies of nano-scale materials in electronic packaging applications with respect to following aspects: surface analysis of nano-scale oxide of lead-free solder particles, and thermal performance and mechanical property studies of nano-scale fiber and metal composite-based thermal interface materials. The composition and thickness of the solder oxide have a direct impact on the quality of interconnects and the reliability of a packaged system. LÄS MER
12. Characterizing cavity containing materials using electron microscopy : A study of metal oxides, mesoporous crystals and porous material containing nanosized metal-particles
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the characterization of novel materials by utilizing electron microscopy techniques. The examined materials contain cavities with certain attributes that enables desired properties for applications such as gas separation, catalysis and fuel cells. LÄS MER
13. An Electron Microscopy Study on Materials in Electronic Packaging
Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with an investigation of the microstructure on materials in electronic packaging. The materials include Ag-filled conductive adhesives, Sn-Ag-based lead free solders and metal-oxide semiconductors. LÄS MER
14. On the processing and properties of cellulose-containing polymeric materials
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACTCellulose fibres have properties that make them very attractive as a reinforcement for thermoplastic polymers. Renewability, biodegradability, very good availability and low cost are some general advantages. LÄS MER
15. Relativenobility of precipitated phases in stainless steels : Evaluation with a combination of local probing techniques
Sammanfattning : Stainless steels often exhibit complex transformation and precipitation behaviour due to a high content of alloying elements. Secondary phases can be formed in the temperature range of 300-1000°C and are generally undesirable due to their detrimental effect on mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of stainless steels.
