1. Dispersion and risk assessment of airborne contaminants in pharmaceutical clean rooms
Sammanfattning : In many of today's industries, particularly in the healthcare field, special protection is required against airbornemicrobiological contamination. Clean rooms and clean zones areused to separate the ambient environment from contaminationcontrolled areas. LÄS MER
2. Development and Assessment of Regeneration Methods for Commercial Automotive Three-Way Catalysts
Sammanfattning : Car exhaust catalysts were introduced in the early 1980’s, to limit the release of pollutants such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. These catalysts contain noble metals such as palladium (Pd), platinum (Pt) and rhodium (Rh) and are able to simultaneously abate all three of the above-mentioned pollutants, hence the name three-way catalyst (TWC). 3. Snow Contamination of Cars: Adhesive Particle Collisions with Exterior Surfaces
Sammanfattning : An ongoing challenge regarding autonomous vehicles is the obstruction of sensors by contaminants on exterior surfaces. This often occurs when driving in harsh weather conditions, where the contaminant can be, for example, water spray, dirt, or snow. LÄS MER
4. Removal processes in sewage treatment plants : Sludge quality and treatment efficiency of structurally diverse organic compounds
Sammanfattning : Large and ever-increasing numbers of chemicals, including large quantities of a broad spectrum of organic compounds are used in modern society. More than 30 000 of the more than 100 000 chemical substances registered in the EU are estimated to be daily used, of which many will be discharged into the waste-streams handled by municipal sewage treatment plants (STPs). 5. Dispersal and environmental impact of contaminants in organic rich, fibrous sediments of industrial origin in the Baltic Sea
Sammanfattning : The health of the Baltic Sea is negatively affected by hazardous substances such as metals and persistent organic pollutants (POPs), which include legacy pollutants that were banned decades ago, but still circulate in the ecosystem. Elevated levels of legacy pollutants, identified by HELCOM as key hazardous substances, have been found in accumulations of fibrous sediments, so-called fiberbanks and fiber-rich sediments, which derive from old pulp mills along the Swedish north coast.
