    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Filamentous fungi; municipal wastewater; pharmaceutical substances; fungal fluidized bed pelleted bioreactor; nutrients; diclofenac; ketoprofen; Trametes versicolor; Aspergillus luchuensis; Filamentösa svampar; kommunalt avloppsvatten; läkemedelsrester; bioreaktor; näringsämnen; diklofenak; ketoprofen; Trametes versicolor; Aspergillus luchuensis; Mikroskopiskās sēnes; sadzīves notekūdeņi; farmaceitiskās vielas; mikroskopisko sēņu bioreaktors; diklofenaks; ketoprofens; Trametes versicolor; Aspergillus luchuensis; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Sammanfattning : The ever-increasing concern about the widespread occurrence of pharmaceutical substances in the aquatic environment has been recognized as an emerging environmental issue as it can cause undesirable effects on the ecosystem and human health. The current wastewater treatment methods are not designed to treat municipal wastewater from the contamination of various pharmaceutical substances. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Faecal Calprotectin Diagnostics : Focus on Primary Care and Suspected Sources of Error

    Författare :Zlatica Rendek; Henrik Hjortswang; Magnus Falk; Ewa Grodzinsky; Stergios Kechagias; Mikael Lilja; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Calprotectin; Inflammatory bowel disease; Gastrointestinal disease; Primary health care; Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents; Proton pump inhibitors; Respiratory tract infection;

    Sammanfattning : Patients with gastrointestinal symptoms often present a diagnostic challenge for general practitioners. Faecal calprotectin (FC) is commonly used as a marker of intestinal inflammation and is useful for differentiating between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), as well as for the follow-up of patients with IBD and monitoring treatment response. 3. 3. Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibition and aspirin in congestive heart failure

    Författare :Tord Juhlin; Kardiologiska klinikens forskargrupp; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; clinical trial; ARBs; renal function; congestive heart failure; ischaemic heart disease; NSAIDs; ACE-inhibitors; aspirin; dose dependency; Cardiovascular system; Kardiovaskulära systemet;

    Sammanfattning : Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors act by decreasing production of angiotensin II and by potentiating the effects of bradykinin by inhibition of its breakdown. Bradykinin exerts part of its effects via vasodilating prostaglandins. Since the cyclooxygenase (COX)-inhibitors, e.g. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Sorption and transformation of polar pharmaceuticals during wastewater treatment studied by hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction

    Författare :Estelle Larsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; pharmaceuticals; wastewater treatment; sludge; hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the application of hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction as a simple, efficient and environmentally friendly tool to study the fate of four common anti-inflammatory drugs (ketoprofen, naproxen, diclofenac and ibuprofen) during wastewater treatment. Initial experiments verified that this technique is applicable on aqueous as well as suspensions of solid samples, thus greatly simplifying the sample preparation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Uptake and bioaccumulation of ionizable pharmaceuticals in aquatic organisms

    Författare :Marja L. Boström; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Antidepressiva medel; Avloppsvatten; BAF; BCF; Bioackumulation; Biokoncentration; Biomagnifikation; CYP; Extraktionsteknik; HF-LPME; Joniserbara läkemedel; Metabolism; pH; Riskanalys; Tolerans; Antidepressant; BAF; BCF; Bioaccumulation; Bioconcentration; Biomagnification; CYP; Extraction technique; HF-LPME; Ionizable pharmaceutical; Metabolism; pH; Risk assessment; Tolerance; Wastewater;

    Sammanfattning : Pharmaceuticals are found at low concentrations (ng/L) in aquatic environments but bioaccumulation may result in aquatic organisms reaching internal effect levels (µg/L). Environmental hazard assessments include standardized bioaccumulation tests but contrary to the model substances around which the frameworks are built most pharmaceuticals are designed to mimic endogenic chemicals, ionizable, and less lipophilic.
