16. Development and Application of Proximity Assays for Proteome Analysis in Medicine
Sammanfattning : Along with proteins, a myriad of different molecular biomarkers, such as post-translational modifications and autoantibodies, could be used in an attempt to improve disease detection and progression. In this thesis, I build on several iterations of the proximity ligation assay to develop and apply new adaptable methods to facilitate detection of proteins, autoantibodies and post-translational modifications. 17. Proximity Ligation Assays for Disease Biomarkers Analysis
Sammanfattning : One of the pressing needs in the field of disease biomarker discovery is new technologies that could allow high performance protein analysis in different types of clinical material, such as blood and solid tissues. This thesis includes four approaches that address important limitations of current technologies, thus enabling highly sensitive, specific and parallel protein measurements. LÄS MER
18. Method development for the analysis of protein interactions
Sammanfattning : Biological processes take place through interactions between macromolecules, such as nucleic acids and proteins. It is, therefore, fundamental to understand the functions of proteins and how they form complexes in order to carry out their role. LÄS MER
19. Ultra-wideband Millimeter-wave Antenna Arrays and Front-end Systems : For high data rate 5G and high energy physics applications
Sammanfattning : The demand for wireless data communications is rapidly increasing due to several factors including increased internet access, increasingly growing number of mobile users and services, implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT), high-definition (HD) video streaming and video calling. To meet the bandwidth requirement of new and emerging applications, it is necessary to move from the existing microwave bands towards millimeter-wave bands. LÄS MER
20. Single-Molecule Detection and Optical Scanning in Miniaturized Formats
Sammanfattning : In later years polymer replication techniques have become a frequently employed fabrication method for microfluidic and micro-optical devices. This thesis describes applications and further developments of microstructures replicated in polymer materials. LÄS MER
