  1. 1. Dried blood sampling and digital readout to advance molecular diagnostics

    Författare :Johan Björkesten; Ulf Landegren; Björn Högberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; molecular diagnostics; dried blood sample; DBS; digital readout; digital enumeration; DNA detection methods; proximity extension assay; protein stability; genotyping; rare mutations; cell free DNA; multiplex protein measurement.; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : A drastically increased capacity to measure large sets of molecular features in numerous patient samples in great detail will be required to fulfill the vision of precision medicine and wellness, which may characterize molecular diagnostics in the 21st century. Also sampling procedures need a renaissance to permit continuous sampling at population levels at reasonable cost. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Micromachined Three-Axis Accelerometers and Sensor Readout Electronics

    Författare :Henrik Rödjegård; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; three axis accelerometer; sensor readout; inertial sensors; gyroscope; MEMS; digital feedback; capacitive readout;

    Sammanfattning : Miniaturized, MEMS-based, inertial navigation systems are used to track the position of moving objects without an external reference system. Several existing and future applications such as indoor navigation, stability control of vehicles, active prostheses or training aids for sportsmen would benefit from the small size and the low cost of micromachined inertial sensors. 3. 3. Readout link and control board for the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter upgrade

    Författare :Steffen Lothar Muschter; Christian Bohm; Francesco Lanni; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Digital electronics; FPGA; Data acquisition; Detector readout; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at the CERN laboratory was designed to study the elementary particles and forces and search for new physics.  Detectors at LHC were designed to observe proton-proton collisions with center of mass energies up to 14 TeV, seven times higher than previously possible. 4. 4. FPGA based data acquistion and digital pulse processing for PET and SPECT

    Författare :Abdel Kader Bousselham; Christian Bohm; Ulf Bäverstam; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Digital signal processing; positron emission tomography; single photon computed tomography; field programmable gate arrays; digital signal processors; digital data acquisition; free running clock sampling; Physics; Fysik; Physics; fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The most important aspects of nuclear medicine imaging systems such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) or Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) are the spatial resolution and the sensitivity (detector efficiency in combination with the geometric efficiency). Considerable efforts have been spent during the last two decades in improving the resolution and the efficiency by developing new detectors. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Readout Strategies for Biomolecular Analyses

    Författare :Jenny Göransson; Mats Nilsson; Charles Cantor; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Padlock probe; Selector probe; Rolling circle amplification; Single molecule detection; Amplified single molecule; Random array; Molecular medicine genetics and pathology ; Molekylär medicin genetik och patologi ;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes three readout formats for molecular analyses. A common feature in all works is probing techniques that upon specific target recognition ideally results in equimolar amounts of DNA circles. These are then specifically amplified and detected using any of the techniques presented herein. LÄS MER
