  1. 21. Digitala förbindelser : Rum, riktning och queera orienteringar

    Författare :Evelina Liliequist; Anna Sofia Lundgren; Coppélie Cocq; Fanny Ambjörnsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Social medier; queer; hbtq; digitala praktiker; digital etnografi; etnologi; internet; ruralitet; rum; Norrland; Ethnology; etnologi; digital humaniora; digital humanities;

    Sammanfattning : Internet has been available for the public during the past thirty years, and is perceived as having radically changed the terms of LGBTQ peoples’ possibilities of connecting with one and other, especially for LGBTQ people in rural spaces. With a queer phenomenological approach, the overall aim of the thesis is to analyze how people come to find their way in life from a non-heterosexual position. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Documenting, Interpreting, Publishing, and Reusing : Linking archaeological reports and excavation archives in the virtual space

    Författare :Paola Derudas; Digital Arkeologi Laboratoriet DARK Lab; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Archaeology; 3D digital methods; archaeological report; archaeological digital curation; digital humanities; semantic web; online publishing systems; FAIR data;

    Sammanfattning : This PhD thesis examines how application of 3D visualization and related digital analytical tools is having a transformative impact on archaeological practice via improvement of visual-spatial thinking and the strengthening of conceptual understanding. However, the deployment of these new digital methods is essentially still at an experimental stage. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Robust Platforms for Superconductivity : Disorder Robustness and Topological Density of States Peaks

    Författare :Tomas Löthman; Annica M. Black-Schaffer; Carsten Honerkamp; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Superconductivity; Odd-Frequency Superconductivity; Nematic superconductivity; Topological Phases of Matter; Flat bands; Van Hove Singularity; Graphene; Twisted Bilayer Graphene; Rhombohedral graphite; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Sammanfattning : We explore the connection between robust material platforms for superconductivity and the modern condensed matter physics paradigms of two-dimensional materials, topological states of matter, and odd-frequency superconductivity. Specifically, the recent discoveries of gapless topological matter and truly two-dimensional materials with graphene have greatly expanded the class of materials for which topology produces large, robust, even singular, density of states (DOS) peaks in the electronic structure that in turn are highly susceptible to new ordered states of matter, including superconductivity. 4. 24. Sailing or Sinking Together : Container Shipping in Digital Platform Capitalism

    Författare :Tom Chabosseau; Ilkka Henrik Mäkinen; Patrik Aspers; René Taudal Poulsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Digital Platform Capitalism; Container Shipping; Logistics; Field Theory; Text Mining; Sociologi; Sociology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the classical research problem of collaboration among competing actors in the context of digital platform capitalism. This study investigates how ocean carriers attempted, and sometimes managed, to set standards, exchange data, and jointly develop supply chain management platforms despite the alleged risks of doing so. 5. 25. Digital aftermaths of terror : reactions to terrorist attacks on twitter

    Författare :Moa Eriksson Krutrök; Simon Lindgren; Ragnar Lundström; Sarah J. Jackson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Sociology; sociologi;

    Sammanfattning : Background. This thesis explores digital public reactions to terrorist attacks, and specifically how discourses on terrorism become articulated on social media. LÄS MER
