21. Targeted radiotherapy in metastatic neuroendocrine tumours: clinical and experimental studies
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Neuroendocrine tumours (NET) often present at a metastatic stage, which diminishes the possibility for curative surgery. Peptide receptor radiotherapy (PRRT) with 177Lu-DOTATATE targets somatostatin receptors, which are overexpressed on NET cells. PRRT results in symptom relief and often tumour control of NETs, but rarely cure. LÄS MER
22. Finite Element and Neuroimaging Techniques toImprove Decision-Making in Clinical Neuroscience
Sammanfattning : Our brain, perhaps the most sophisticated and mysterious part of the human body, to some extent, determines who we are. However, it’s a vulnerable organ. When subjected to an impact, such as a traffic accident or sport, it may lead to traumatic brain injury (TBI) which can have devastating effects for those who suffer the injury. LÄS MER
23. Hyperpolarized 3He-diffusion MRI in evaluation of lung structure in emphysema. Validation and development of the method
Sammanfattning : Abstract COPD is a major cause of chronic morbidity and mortality throughout the world. It is a preventable and treatable disease. Smoking is the most commonly encountered risk factor for COPD and the habit now unfortunately starts at earlier ages than before. LÄS MER
24. Magnetic resonance imaging and advanced imaging assessment of the growth plate in the adolescent and young adult
Sammanfattning : The growth plate is a cartilaginous structure located between the metaphysis and epiphysis in long bones. It is the centre for longitudinal growth. Longitudinal growth has a biphasic pattern with a peak during foetal and early postnatal life and another peak during puberty. LÄS MER
25. Diffusion-encoded MRI for assessment of structure and microcirculation : Aspects of q-space imaging and improved IVIM modelling
Sammanfattning : Diffusion and perfusion MRI are valuable methods for investigating the microstructure and viability of tissue. One pure diffusion study was included in this thesis, with the purpose of studying microstructure and carrying out size estimations with the q-space diffusion imaging method. LÄS MER
