16. The Non-Invasive Liver Biopsy : Determining Hepatic Function in Diffuse and Focal LiverDisease
Sammanfattning : The liver is one of the largest organs within the human body and it handles many vital tasks such as nutrient processing, toxin removal, and synthesis of important proteins. The number of people suffering from chronic liver disease is on the rise, likely due to the present ‘western’ lifestyle. LÄS MER
17. Molecular Characterization of Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma and Aspects of Transformation
Sammanfattning : Lymphomas are a heterogeneous group of neoplasias originating from B- or T-lymphocytes. In this thesis, we determined the genetic and immunophenotypic characterization of DLBCL and their prognostic impact. LÄS MER
18. Burkitt lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma – therapeutic strategies and pathogenetic mechanisms
Sammanfattning : Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is a rare, aggressive disorder constituting 1% of all non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is more common, accounting for 30% of malignant lymphoma. Standard treatment for adult BL and for certain subgroups of patients with DLBCL remains to be defined due to paucity of randomised trials performed. LÄS MER
19. Quantitative 31P magnetic resonance spectroscopy in diffuse liver disease
Sammanfattning : The studies in this thesis were delineated to evaluate the diagnostic possibilities in patients with diffuse liver disease by using phosphorus-31 MR spectroscopy and comparing the results with clinical, laboratory and histopathological findings. For this purpose in all 38 patients and 25 controls without evidence of liver disease were examined. LÄS MER
20. Quantitative Magnetic Resonance in Diffuse Neurological and Liver Disease
Sammanfattning : Introduction: Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is one of the most important diagnostic tools in modern medicine. Compared to other imaging modalities, it provides superior soft tissue contrast of all parts of the body and it is considered to be safe for patients. LÄS MER
