1. Chiral Pyridine-Containing Ligands for Asymmetric Catalysis. Synthesis and Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the design and syntheses of chiral, enantiopure pyridinecontaining ligands and their applicationsin asymmetric catalyis.Chiral pyridyl pyrrolidine ligands and pyridyl oxazolineligands were synthesized and employed in thepalladium-catalysed allylic alkylation of 1,3-diphenyl-2-propenyl acetate with dimethyl malonate. 2. C2- and C3-symmetric ligands via ring-opening of aziridines
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the design and synthesis of chiralenantiopure nitrogencontaining ligands and the use of theseligands in asymmetric catalysis. A modular synthetic approachto enantiopure nitrogen-containing ligands was developed. Thesynthetic method is based on the ring-opening of activatedchiral aziridines by nitrogen nucleophiles. LÄS MER
3. Synthesis and evaluation of bicyclic 1,3-diols (BODOLs) as ligands for asymmetric catalysis
Sammanfattning : Several ligands based upon 2-substituted bicyclic[2.2.2]octane-2,6-diols (BODOLs) were synthesized and evaluated in two catalytic reactions: I) the Ti(IV)-mediated catecholborane asymmetric reduction of prochiral ketones and II) as catalysts in the asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to aromatic aldehydes. 4. Non Natural Aromatic Amino Acids Applications in cage-construction, metal ion coordination and asymmetric catalysis
Sammanfattning : Aromatic non-natural amino acids, the outstanding feature of which was the presence of several arms, were synthesised and their properties investigated. The amino acids were synthesised following a standard procedure starting with a Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons or a Heck reaction, which provided didehydroamino acids. LÄS MER
5. Synthesis of amino- and hydroxyl-substituted bridged bicyclic compounds and their application in asymmetric catalysis
Sammanfattning : In this work, hydroxyl- and amino-substituted bridged bicyclic compounds based on bicyclo[2.2.1]heptane, bicyclo[2.2. LÄS MER
