    Sammanfattning : Regulatory mechanisms are necessary to avoid the misdirected aggressive immune responses responsible for the pathology seen in autoimmunity and allergy. Thymic-derived CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells are indispensible for this regulation. We investigated if CD4+CD25+ Treg prevents auto-reactive responses in adult peripheral blood and cord blood.     Sammanfattning : The gastrointestinal tract, is continuously exposed to a wide variety of stimuli, including dietary-derived metabolites, environmental compounds and the microbiota. Since these antigens can be beneficial or detrimental for the organism, proper sensing of the luminal content is essential for orchestrating both pro-inflammatory and tolerogenic immune responses on demand and therefore, ensure the establishment of intestinal homeostasis.
