  1. 11. Low Emission Concepts for Diesel Engines

    Författare :Arjan Helmantel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; post injection; adjustable valve timing; two-colour pyrometry; Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition; emissions; piezo injector; swirl; combustion; Diesel; HCCI; endoscope;

    Sammanfattning : In the recent past, the Diesel engine has been improved considerably in the areas of performance, fuel efficiency and exhaust emissions. In Europe, these improvements have resulted in a strong increase in the sales of passenger cars equipped with a Diesel engine. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Numerical Modeling of Soot and NOx Formation in Non-Stationary Diesel Flames with Complex Chemistry

    Författare :Feng Tao; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; soot and NOx formation; non-stationary Diesel sprays; complex chemistry; Diesel spray auto-ignition; reaction zone structure; Diesel flame liftoff; turbulence-chemistry interaction;

    Sammanfattning : A complex chemistry model of reduced size (65 species and 268 reactions) derived on the basis of n-heptane auto-ignition kinetics, small hydrocarbon oxidation chemistry, polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) and NOx formation kinetics together with a phenomenological soot model has been implemented in the KIVA code for multidimensional Diesel spray combustion simulations. An EDC (Eddy Dissipation Concept) based partially stirred reactor model is used to handle the turbulence-chemistry interaction. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Characteristics of Particulate Emissions from Low Temperature Combustion and Renewable Fuels : Aerosol Mass Spectrometry of Refractory Carbonaceous Particles

    Författare :Vilhelm Malmborg; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Emissions; Soot; BC; BrC; ROS; SP-AMS; MiniCAST; Diesel Engine; HVO; RME; Cook Stove; Emissions; Soot; BC; BrC; SP-AMS; ROS; MiniCAST; Diesel Engine; HVO; RME; Cook Stove;

    Sammanfattning : Particulate air pollution is one of the major causes of premature death in the world, and combustion-derived soot emissions contribute strongly to the particulate pollution to which humans are exposed. Black carbon (BC) is one such emission and denotes soot with strong light absorption in the ultraviolet to infrared spectrum. LÄS MER
