  1. 1. Diesel Engine Modeling for Engine Management System Development

    Författare :Markus Grahn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engine control; Diesel engines; Engine management system; Emissions; Simulation; Optimization; Modeling;

    Sammanfattning : Due to increasingly strict emission legislation and stronger demands on fuel consumption, typical passenger car diesel engines become increasingly complex with more and more controllable systems added. These added systems open up for the possibility to operate the engine at more efficient conditions, but it also becomes more challenging to optimize the settings in the engine management system. 2. 2. Reducing Diesel Engine Emissions - An Experimental Investigation

    Författare :Arjan Helmantel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Optical methods; Soot; Diesel; Emissions; HCCI;

    Sammanfattning : In the recent past, the Diesel engine has been improved considerably in the areas ofperformance, fuel efficiency and exhaust emissions. In Europe, these improvements haveresulted in a strong increase in the sales of passenger cars equipped with a Diesel engine. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Model-Based Diesel Engine Management System Optimization - A Strategy for Transient Engine Operation

    Författare :Markus Grahn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engine management system; Modeling; Engine control; Diesel engine; Fuel Consumption; Optimization; Emissions; Calibration; Simulation;

    Sammanfattning : To meet increasingly strict emission legislation and stronger demands on fuel consumption, typical passenger car diesel engines become increasingly complex with more and more controllable systems added. These added systems open up for the possibility to operate the engine at more efficient conditions, but it also becomes more challenging to optimize the settings in the engine management system. Författare :Adina Gogan; Värmeöverföring; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; plasmas; Gaser; Gases; fluid dynamics; aktuariematematik; programmering; operationsanalys; Statistik; actuarial mathematics; programming; operations research; Statistics; detailed kinetics; emissions; engine knock; autoignition; modeling; spark ignition engine; diesel engine; fluiddynamik; plasma; Technological sciences; Teknik; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; termodynamik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; stochastic reactor model;

    Sammanfattning : The modeling work developed in this thesis can be divided in two main areas of investigations: autoignition related to spark ignition engine and combustion and emissions formation in relation to diesel engines. A first version of a detailed kinetics engine simulation program, extended to handle full cycle calculations, was employed in order to demonstrate the strong effect that nitric oxide from the residual gas has on the autoignition onset.
