11. Metal-Free Catalysis for Efficient Synthesis
Sammanfattning : The strength of efficient metal-free catalysis will be examined in this thesis. Efforts towards more sustainable processes will be demonstrated through implementation of strategies that meet several of the 12 principles of Green Chemistry. LÄS MER
12. Iron-Catalyzed Reactions and X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopic Studies of Palladium- and Ruthenium-Catalyzed Reactions
Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is twofold: The first is on the application of iron catalysis for organic transformations. The second is on the use of in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) to investigate the mechanisms of a heterogeneous palladium-catalyzed reaction and a homogeneous ruthenium-catalyzed reaction. 13. Catalytic Regio- and Stereoselective Reactions for the Synthesis of Allylic and Homoallylic Compounds
Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on two main areas of organic synthesis, palladium-catalyzed functionalization of alkenes and allylic alcohols, as well as development of new allylboration reactions. We have developed a palladium-catalyzed selective allylic trifluoroacetoxylation reaction based on C−H functionalization. 14. Copper and Palladium-Mediated Transformationsof Allylic and Propargylic Substrates
Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on the development of new palladium and copper-mediated reactions for functionalization of alkenes and propargylic alcohol derivatives. We have developed an efficient procedure for the synthesis of allenyl and propargyl boronate from propargylic carbonates and acetates. LÄS MER
15. The Use of N,P-Iridium and N,P-Palladium Complexes in Asymmetric Synthesis
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis concerns asymmetric catalysis using chiral N,P-ligands and iridium or palladium transition metals. The first part (Chapters 2 and 3) highlights the N,P-iridium catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of 1,4-cyclohexadienes having functionalized or unfunctionalized substituents, including allylsilane side chains.
