  1. 6. Temporomandibular joint disk displacement and subsequent adverse mandibular growth : a radiographic, histologic and biomolecular experimental study

    Författare :Fredrik Bryndahl; Annika Isberg; Lars Eriksson; Lars G Hollender; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; adolescence; adverse growth; condylar cartilage; subchondral bone; TMJ; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The mandibular condyles represent important growth sites within the facial skeleton. Condylar growth is not a pacemaker of mandibular development, but it provides regional adaptive growth that is of considerable clinical significance, as the condyle’s upward and backward growth movement regulates the anteriorly and inferiorly directed displacement of the mandible as a whole. 2. 7. Radiation dose and image quality in diagnostic radiology : optimization of the dose - image quality relationship with clinical experience from scoliosis radiography, coronary intervention and a flat-panel digital detector

    Författare :Håkan Geijer; Hans Ringertz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Det är känt att röntgenstrålning kan orsaka cancersjukdomar, hudskador och andra sidoeffekter. Därför är det viktigt och även föreskrivet i lag att strålexpaneringen inom diagnostisk radiologi skall sänkas så långt som möjligt. Detta kallas på engelska ALARA-principen (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). LÄS MER

  3. 8. Neurocognitive and endocrine dysfunction in women with exhaustion syndrome

    Författare :Agneta Sandström; Tommy Olsson; Lars Nyberg; Marie Åsberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cognition; attention; working memory; exhaustion syndrome; major depression; cortisol; HPA-axis; proinflammatory cytokines; psychology; neurocognitive; endocrine; fMRI; MRI; prefrontal cortex; multivariate; women; personality; TCI; stress; Public health medicine research areas; Folkhälsomedicinska forskningsområden; Diagnostic radiology; Diagnostisk radiologi; medicin; Medicine; diagnostisk radiologi; Diagnostic Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : Stress has emerged as one of the most important factors to consider in psychiatric diagnoses and has become a common reason for long-term sick leave (LTSL). Roughly 50% of LTSL due to psychiatric diseases are thought to be associated with work-related stress. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Prostate Cancer Diagnosis : experimental and Clinical Studies With HRMAS NMR Spectroscopy

    Författare :Katarina Stenman; Katrine Åhlström-Riklund; Anders Bergh; Peter Lundberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prostate cancer; PCa; HRMAS NMR; MRSI; metabolomics; Gleason score; citrate; inositol; choline; Krebs cycle; PUFA; omega-6; omega-3; Diagnostic radiology; Diagnostisk radiologi; Radiology; radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : A few abnormal cells found in a small piece of prostate tissue are most consequential for a man’s future. The prevalence of prostate cancer (PCa) is increasing globally. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Hepatobiliary System Using Hepatocyte-Specific Contrast Media

    Författare :Nils Dahlström; Örjan Smedby; Torkel Brismar; Anders Ynnerman; Lennart Blomqvist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diagnostic radiology; Diagnostisk radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : There are two Gadolinium-based liver-specific contrast media for Magnetic Resonance Imaging on the market, Gd-BOPTA (MultiHance®, Bracco Imaging, Milan, Italy) and Gd-EOB-DTPA (Primovist®, Bayer Schering Pharma, Berlin, Germany). The aim of this study in two parts was to evaluate the dynamics of biliary, parenchymal and vascular enhancement using these contrast media in healthy subjects. LÄS MER
