  1. 16. Incorporation of Departure Time Choice in a Mesoscopic Transportation Model for Stockholm

    Författare :Ida Kristoffersson; Leonid Engelson; Jan Lundgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transport Modelling; Departure Time Choice; Dynamic Traffic Simulation; Time-Varying Congestion Charges; Peak Spreading; Reverse Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Travel demand management policies such as congestion charges encourage car-users to change among other things route, mode and departure time. Departure time may be especially affected by time-varying charges, since car-users can avoid high peak hour charges by travelling earlier or later, so called peak spreading effects. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Issues in Estimation and Application of Long Distance Travel Demand Models

    Författare :Muriel Beser Hugosson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Intercity travel; logit model; market segments; stated preference; bootstrap; heteroscedastic extreme value model; nested logit;

    Sammanfattning : Forecasts of the demand for long distance travel areessential for many decisions, such as infrastructureinvestments, operators´management policies etc. Manyresearch issues are related to this field, and the purpose ofthis thesis is to contribute to some of them. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Coordination and Routing for Fuel-Efficient Heavy-Duty Vehicle Platoon Formation

    Författare :Kuo-Yun Liang; Karl Henrik Johansson; Jonas Mårtensson; Paolo Falcone; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) manufacturers and fleet owners are facing great challenges for a maintained sustainable transport system as the demand for road freight transport is continuously increasing. HDV platooning is one potential solution topartially mitigate the environmental impacts as well as to reduce the fuel consumption, improve safety, and increase the throughput on congested highways. 4. 19. Fuel-Efficient Heavy-Duty Vehicle Platoon Formation

    Författare :Kuo-Yun Liang; Karl Henrik Johansson; Jonas Mårtensson; Carlos Canudas-de-Wit; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : There is a need for intelligent freight transport solutions as the demand for road freight transport is continuously increasing while carbon footprint needs to be significantly reduced. Heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) platooning is one potential solution to partially mitigate the environmental impacts as well as to reduce fuel consumption, improve traffic safety, and increase traffic throughput on congested highways. 5. 20. 14C Produced by Nuclear Power Reactors - Generation and Characterization of Gaseous, Liquid and Solid Waste

    Författare :Åsa Magnusson; Kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; waste disposal; spent ion-exchange resins; mass balance assessment; Nuclear physics; environmental impact; Fysicumarkivet A:2007:Magnusson; nuclear power plant; Kärnfysik; Carbon-14;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the results from studies on carbon-14 produced by nuclear power reactors. Radioactive 14C enters the carbon cycle and can be taken up by humans, where it will constitute a potential health hazard. LÄS MER
