  1. 11. Design for Perception - A human-centric approach to the design of driving automation systems based on the driver’s perception

    Författare :Fjolle Novakazi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; design method; human-centric design; human factors.; mental model; driving automation; cognitive engineering; understanding; empirical research; design tool; perception; levels of automation; mixed-methods research;

    Sammanfattning : The automotive industry is rapidly developing driving automation systems (DAS) with the aim of supporting drivers by means of the automation of longitudinal and lateral vehicle control. As vehicle complexity increases and update-over-the-air features are enabling continuous development of vehicle software and functionality, the driver’s understanding of their responsibility and their vehicle’s capabilities and limitations is becoming significantly more important. 2. 12. On seeing : in fashion design

    Författare :Stefanie Malmgren De Oliveira; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; seeing; fashion design process; image; dress; visual language; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Sammanfattning : In fashion design, the designer strives for the development of ideas in view of significant visual goals. The process of specifying and developing ideas is a highly visual process. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Circular design through co-creation: Exploring perspectives and future directions for design in a circular economy

    Författare :Giliam Dokter; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Circular Economy; Co-creation; Design practice; Prototyping; Design for Sustainability; Circular Design;

    Sammanfattning : In the efforts to stimulate sustainable development, the circular economy aims to establish ‘closed-loop’ flows of resources in a way that enables businesses and society to reap benefits from maintaining products, components and materials at their highest utility and value, while simultaneously reducing the generation of waste. Designing for a circular economy will require designers to, more than ever, anticipate how artifacts function and change over time and conceptualise the entire lifecycle (including the design, production, use and end-of-life phase) in a coherent and holistic way. 4. 14. Designing Together: A Frugal Design Approach. Exploring Participatory Design in a Global North-South Cooperation Context

    Författare :Helena Hansson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Design; Hållbar utveckling; Sustainable development; Design; Sverige; Kenya;

    Sammanfattning : Since the turn of the millennium, participatory designers have increasingly begun to engage in collaborative research processes in the so-called Global South, targeting sustainable development. The quest is to take on the larger challenges through cooperative work, and such a design process is here referred to as Global North–South cooperation. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Expansive design for teachers : An activity theoretical approach to design and work integrated learning

    Författare :Dennis Augustsson; Åsa Mäkitalo; Thomas Winman; Anne Edwards; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Participatory design; Activity theory; Expansive learning; Teaching; Professional development; Education; Work Integrated Learning; Arbetsintegrerat lärande; Utbildningsvetenskap; Educational science;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores how Participatory Design (PD) and Cultural Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) can be combined and used as a theoretical framework and methodology in a professional development activity for teachers. A shift in the way we view teachers, from implementors to designers who actively construct, invent, and develop the practice of schooling also calls for changes in teacher education and professional development activities.
