  1. 16. Perceived Quality of Cars. A Novel Framework and Evaluation Methodology

    Författare :Kostas Stylidis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; luxury; knowledge management; engineering; premium; design; engineering; automotive; product quality; ; product development; aesthetics; perceived quality;

    Sammanfattning : The supremacy of the automotive manufacturers today is no longer driven by them achieving a superior manufacturing quality but increasingly depends on the customer’s quality perception. Average car consumers see a car’s quality as a fancy mixture of design, aesthetics, their own previous experiences and performance characteristics of the vehicle, unlike a combination of mechanical parts, software pieces, advanced materials, cutting-edge manufacturing processes, with technical knowledge, skills and high production volumes – all ingredients involved in the modern car creation. 2. 17. Three perspectives on supply chain design

    Författare :Håkan Aronsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; logistics; supply chain management; design variables; constructs; concepts;

    Sammanfattning : As companies increasingly cooperate with and rely on other companies to compete on a global market, the concept of supply chain management and logistics is gaining interest, from practitioner as well as researchers. Studies of high-performing companies, such as Benetton, Toyota and Nissan report that these organizations take a strategic view of the whole process of supply from original sources of material to end customers, achieving more efficient operations management and more effective strategic management. 3. 18. Design Syntactics: A Functional Approach to Visual Product Form Theory, Models, and Methods

    Författare :Anders Warell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; product semantics; engineering design; industrial design; product form; design methodology; visual design aesthetics; design syntactics; functionality; interdisciplinary design; form design development;

    Sammanfattning : In line with the increasing importance of high quality appearance and aesthetic appeal in the design of consumer products, there is a growing need for enhanced understanding and ability to handle visual product form in industrial product development. In an approach for meeting that need, this thesis concerns the nature and development of visual design aesthetics in product form design. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Tacit : A research journey into the methods, processes and knowledge of graphic designers

    Författare :Halldór Björn Halldórsson; Åsa Wikberg-Nilsson; Anders Warell; Johanna Lewengard; Sofie Beier; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Design; Design;

    Sammanfattning : By exploring the potential effects of digitisation on graphic design methods, this thesis aims to highlight some of the tacit knowledge possessed by graphic designers and to show that this knowledge can both be externalised and made communicable. Beginning with an interview study where professional designers’ views were gathered and analysed, the work continued through a participatory study where designers’ knowledge was highlighted in a documented design project. 5. 20. Lucky People Forecast : a systemic futures perspective on fashion and sustainability

    Författare :Mathilda Tham; Richard Kimbell; Kate Fletcher; Emma Dewberry; Kay Stables; University of London Goldsmiths; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Lucky people; Fashion; Sustainability; Futures; Systems thinking; Change; Metadesign; Design; Design;

    Sammanfattning : The detrimental environmental effects associated with fashion production and consumption are increasingly recognised, and strategies in place. However, these are production-focused, top-down strategies, which do not reach where the impact is highest - the user phase, or where the scope for improvement is utmost - the design phase. LÄS MER
