  1. 11. Expansive design for teachers : An activity theoretical approach to design and work integrated learning

    Författare :Dennis Augustsson; Åsa Mäkitalo; Thomas Winman; Anne Edwards; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Participatory design; Activity theory; Expansive learning; Teaching; Professional development; Education; Work Integrated Learning; Arbetsintegrerat lärande; Utbildningsvetenskap; Educational science;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores how Participatory Design (PD) and Cultural Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) can be combined and used as a theoretical framework and methodology in a professional development activity for teachers. A shift in the way we view teachers, from implementors to designers who actively construct, invent, and develop the practice of schooling also calls for changes in teacher education and professional development activities. 2. 12. The Myth of the Silhouette : On form thinking in knitwear design

    Författare :Karin Landahl; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; knitwear design; form thinking; silhouette; practice-based design research; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents and discusses the results of foundational experimental designresearch in the field of fashion design methodology, with a particular focus onknitwear. The research explored and broadened the foundations of form-thinkingin the design process for knitwear and knitting, with the objective of developingalternative form-concepts and working methods relevant to practitioners andstudents active in the field. 3. 13. Aesthetic Flexibility : In Industrial Design Practice

    Författare :Torbjörn Andersson; Johan Ölvander; Renee Wever; Toni-Matti Karjalainen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; industrial design; product development; product modularity; product branding; and dual decision-making.;

    Sammanfattning : Competition among companies that produce complex or large product portfolios has created a need to use modularity strategies not only to flexibly manage technical complexity in a cost-effective manner but also to produce visually appealing products. This research aims to understand how the visual appearance of products is affected by modular product development strategies and creates coherent product brands. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Advancing the life cycle energy optimisation methodology

    Författare :Hamza Bouchouireb; Ciarán J. O'Reilly; Peter Göransson; Rupert J. Baumgartner; José Potting; Tracy Bhamra; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; life cycle energy; vehicle design; optimisation; functional conflicts; livscykelenergi; fordonsdesign; optimering; tvär-funktionella konflikter; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The Life Cycle Energy Optimisation (LCEO) methodology aims at finding a design solution that uses a minimum amount of cumulative energy demand over the different phases of the vehicle's life cycle, while complying with a set of functional constraints. This effectively balances trade-offs, and therewith avoids sub-optimal shifting between the energy demand for the cradle-to-production of materials, operation of the vehicle, and end-of-life phases. 5. 15. The labour of infrastructuring : An inquiry into participatory design in the public sector

    Författare :Alicia Smedberg; Per-Anders Hillgren; Kristina Lindström; Liesbeth Huybrechts; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Participatory Design; Infrastructuring; Agency; Labour; Citizenship; Feminist Technoscience; City Planning; Public Sector; Deltagande design; Infrastrukturering; Medborgarskap; Feministisk Vetenskapsteori; Offentlig sektor; Interaktionsdesign; Interaktionsdesign;

    Sammanfattning : Every organisation, cooperation, project or social movement is quintessentially a cluster of alignments between people, places and things. Through these alignments, networks are made, and through these networks action can be made possible or be constricted. LÄS MER
