  1. 6. Deconvolution of Spatial Gene Expression in Cancer

    Författare :Linnea Stenbeck; Stefania Giacomello; Joakim Lundeberg; Vicent Pelechano; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Spatial transcriptomics; Gene expression; Cancer; Bioteknologi; Biotechnology;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world, claiming nearly 10 million lives in 2020 alone. One of the main issues in anti-cancer treatment is the heterogeneity of the tumor microenvironment (TME). The TME consists of different cells that are critical for cancer development. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Development and Applications of Chemometric Methods for Spectral Deconvolution

    Författare :Robert Sjöback; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Chemometric methods are very useful in analyzing complex mixtures. In this thesis two methods are presented that allow resolution of overlapping spectra from mixtures without knowledge of the pure component spectra. It also includes applications of these methods, in which the spectroscopic properties of the fluorescein system are characterized. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Analytical Electron Microscopy Studies for Development of New Carbon Based Materials

    Författare :Staffan Wachtmeister; Stefan Csillag; Gilles Hug; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEM; EELS; CNx thin films; Carbide derived carbons; Gold deconvolution; Resolution improvement; Physics; Fysik; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis presents transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) studies of new carbon based materials synthesized with two different techniques. In the first project, nitrogen is incorporated into carbon nanostructures by supersonic cluster beam deposition (SCBD) to favor the formation of curved and cross-linked structures, ultimately aiming at creating a material with high hardness combined with good elasticity. 4. 9. DIGITAL ANALYSIS OF CARDIAC ACOUSTIC SIGNALS IN CHILDREN

    Författare :Milad El-Segaier; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pediatri; Medicin människa och djur ; Cardiovascular system; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Pediatrics; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Heart sound detection; Logistic regression; Receiver operating characteristic curve; Signal deconvolution.; Short-time Fourier transform; Cardiac acoustic signals; Time interval measurements;

    Sammanfattning : DIGITAL ANALYSIS OF CARDIAC ACOUSTIC SIGNALS IN CHILDREN Milad El-Segaier, MD Division of Paediatric Cardiology, Department of Paediatrics, Lund University Hospital, Lund, Sweden SUMMARY Despite tremendous development in cardiac imaging, use of the stethoscope and cardiac auscultation remains the primary diagnostic tool in evaluation of cardiac pathology. With the advent of miniaturized and powerful technology for data acquisition, display and digital signal processing, the possibilities for detecting cardiac pathology by signal analysis have increased.
