  1. 1. Analysis of Fatigue Characteristics in Mooring Lines and Low Voltage Cables for Wave Energy Converters

    Författare :Shun-Han Yang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; wave energy converter; de-coupled analysis; power cable; fatigue; dynamic cable; heaving point absorber; mooring line; coupled analysis; power absorption; marine biofouling effect on absorbed power; low voltage cable; catenary mooring chain; marine biofouling effect on fatigue;

    Sammanfattning : To reduce both carbon emission and fossil fuel consumption, there is a pressing need for the exploitation of renewable sources of energy such as biomass, hydropower, solar power, waves, and wind. This thesis addresses the application of wave energy, which has a large potential to contribute to the world’s renewable emission-free energy supply. LÄS MER

  2. 2. RoPax Ship Collision – a Methodology for Survivability Analysis

    Författare :Per Hogström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; non-linear FEA; failure modelling; uncertainty analysis; Crashworthiness; sheet metal failure; ship collision; damage stability;

    Sammanfattning : Throughout the world, ships are continuously being declared as total losses and 10 to 15% of these accidents are collisions between ships. The consequences of a collision are diverse and depend on the ship type, e.g. oil outflow in the case of damaged tankers or loss of stability in damaged passenger ships. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Negotiating teacher professionalism : on the symbolic politics of Sweden's teacher unions

    Författare :Peter Lilja; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :Boundary work; Institutional theory; Policy analysis; Profession; Professionalism; Professionalization; Professional project; Teacher professionalism; Teacher unions;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to critically investigate and problematize the Swedish Teacher Unions’ use of the concept of professionalism within the political negotiation of how to ascribe meaning and contetnt to the idea of teacher professionalism within contemporary Swedish education debates. Departing from two recent educational reforms – the certification of teachers and the reformation of teacher education – and using theories from the sociology of professions coupled with an institutional approach to the study of organizations this study analyzes how the Teacher Unions construct professional projects in relation to each other as well as in relation to the reforms of the current Ministry of Education. 4. 4. Glomerular expression profiling and novel proteins in normal mouse kidney and adriamycin-induced nephrosis

    Författare :Masatoshi Nukui; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Kidney glomeruli function as high-capacity molecular sieves through which plasma is filtered into the Bowman s space as primary urine. The glomerular filtration barrier is composed of glomerular endothelial cells, the glomerulus basement membrane and the podocyte cell layer. LÄS MER
