  1. 1. Platelets : intracellular signalling and cellular interaction

    Författare :Magnus Grenegård; Hans Gyllenhammar; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Activation of platelets is essential to prevent excessive blood loss at the site of vascular injury. These highly reactive cell fragments are also involved in several pathological conditions, in particular arterial thrombosis, which, in the coronary vessels, can lead to reduced blood flow, vessel occlusion and myocardial infarction. 2. 2. Collagen-binding integrin α2β1 activity in vivo and in vitro : Effects of platelet-derived growth factor-BB

    Författare :Karina Åhlén; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Integrin α2β1; PDGF-BB; fibroblast; interstitial fluid pressure; cytoskeletal interaction; phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase; [Ca2 ]i; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Medical and Physiological Chemistry; medicinsk och fysiologisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The expression of integrins by two cell clones from a rat colon carcinoma was investigated. Cloned cells that gave rise to regressive tumors, but not cells that gave rise to progressive, lethal, tumors, adhered to interstitial collagens through the integrin α2β1, although both cell types expressed it. 3. 3. Biophysical studies of protein folding upon interaction with molecular chaperones

    Författare :Satish Babu Moparthi; Uno Carlsson; Per Hammarström; Bengt-Harald Jonsson; Pernilla Wittung‐Stafshede; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Proteins are biological macromolecules that serve all functions in cells. Every protein consists of a sequence of amino acids that is folded into a three‐dimensional structure to maintain the unique information it contains and to allow the protein to perform its specific actions. 4. 4. Induction of the cytoskeletal protein radixin in the adult brain

    Författare :Åsa Persson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rostral migratory stream; stroke; Neural stem cells; microglia; ezrin radixin moesin; Olig2;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Neural stem and progenitor cells (NSPCs) proliferate throughout life in two regions of the brain, namely the subventricular zone (SVZ) of the lateral ventricles and the subgranular zone of dentate gyrus in the hippocampus. In the adult SVZ, NSPCs give rise to neuroblasts that leave the SVZ for long distance migration along the rostral migratory stream (RMS), on their way to the olfactory bulb where they mature and are integrated in the neural network. 5. 5. Functional role of cytoskeletal, contractile and regulatory proteins in muscle disease

    Författare :Mei Li; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The function of skeletal muscle is an essential component of animal physiology and daily life. Hereditary muscle diseases are comparatively rare in humans, but often very severe. The disease causes are heterogeneous, defects in nerves, intracellular components, structural proteins and the contractile apparatus can be involved. LÄS MER
