1. Assessment of eosinophil degranulation in allergic diseases and experimental models
Sammanfattning : In allergic disorders, the eosinophilic granulocytes migrate to affected tissues and release granule proteins with cytotoxic, immunoregulatory, and remodeling-promoting properties. Given that degranulation is reflected by a loss in eosinophil granule density of living cells, or by cell membrane rupture and release of intact granules, these morphological changes may represent a biomarker of the allergic disease. 2. Perinuclear Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies in Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Sammanfattning : Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCAs) are a group of autoantibodies which are specific for granulocyte antigens. By indirect immunofluorescence (llF) on ethanol-fixed neutrophils, ANCAs can be divided into two types: a cytoplasmic staining pattern (C-ANCA) or a perinuclear staining pattern (P-ANCA). LÄS MER
3. Bactericidal/Permeability-Increasing Protein (BPI) and Proteinase 3: Studies at the Transcriptional Level
Sammanfattning : In myelopoiesis, neutrophils and monocytes/macrophages are formed from a common myeloid precursor cell in the bone marow. During maturation of neutrophils, cytoplasmic granules are formed in the cells and the content of these granules is critical for the function of neutrophils in the first line of defense against invading microorganisms. 4. Sorting and processing of neutrophil granule proteins
Sammanfattning : The neutrophil granulocytes have a critical role in innate immunity in particular through phagocytosis of microorganisms. Their cytoplasmic granule subsets store digestive enzymes and antibiotic proteins that are released during this event. LÄS MER
5. Functional roles of protein phase separated assemblies in cellular stress response and proteinopathies
Sammanfattning : For a long time, pertinent biological conundrums, such as the organization and compartmentalization of the cytoplasm and nucleoplasm, perplexed the scientific community. The organization of the complex biochemistry in an accurate space and time manner could not be explained without the enclosure of a membrane. LÄS MER
