  1. 6. Particulate Formation in GDI Engines

    Författare :Sreelekha Etikyala; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PM; Alternate fuels; Gasoline Direct Injection; internal combustion engines; Particulate Number; Load transients;

    Sammanfattning : The need to comply with stringent emission regulations while improving fuel economy and reducing criteria pollutant emissions from transportation presents a major challenge in the design of gasoline Direct Injection (DI) engines because of the adverse effects of ultrafine Particulate Number (PN) emissions on human health and other environmental concerns. With upcoming advances in vehicle electrification, it may be the case that electric vehicles completely replace all current vehicles powered by internal combustion engines ensuring zero emissions. 2. 7. Vibration based diagnostics for analysis of combustion properties and noise emissions of IC engines

    Författare :Grover Zurita Villarroel; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknisk akustik; Engineering Acoustics;

    Sammanfattning : The major challenge in engine diagnostics, monitoring and optimisation is to maintain competitive fuel economy, refinement and specific power while at the same time keeping noise and exhaust emissions at acceptable levels. This requires development and integration of fuel delivery, combustion and after-treatment systems. LÄS MER

  3. 8. THE EFFECTS OF VARIOUS NOZZLE HOLE CONFIGURATIONS ON DIESEL ENGINE PERFORMANCE

    Författare :Andreas Matsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Diesel engine combustion non-circular nozzle hole cavitation hydrogrinding optical study flame wall interaction;

    Sammanfattning : Any improvement that can be done with the diesel engine to reduce emissions and fuel consumption is of importance. The aim of the studies presented in this thesis was to determine whether changes in the nozzle geometry of the fuel injection systems used in diesel engines might improve their emissions and fuel consumption. 4. 9. Particulate Formation in Gasoline Direct Injection Engines

    Författare :Sreelekha Etikyala; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PM; Volatileorganic compounds; Gasoline Direct Injection; Particulate Number; Alternate fuels;

    Sammanfattning : Gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines are facing a great challenge because of the need to comply with increasingly stringent emission regulations while improving fuel economy. GDI engines are popularly known for their high fuel efficiency (by the standards of gasoline engines) and low emissions, enabling higher compression ratios and thus increased volumetric efficiency. 5. 10. Combustion Sensing Methods - in Theory and Practice

    Författare :Martin Larsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Internal combustion engines; HCCI; combustion measurements; measurement techniques; SI; signal processing; pressure sensors; ion current sensors;

    Sammanfattning : Accurate, reliable sensors are essential parts of any control system, and there are increasing needs for feedback systems to monitor and control key parameters of automotive internal combustion engines, operating in various combustion modes and configurations, to reduce fuel consumption and engine-out emissions. Thus, there are strong motives for studying combustion sensors. LÄS MER
