22. High Order Cut Finite Element Methods for Wave Equations
Sammanfattning : This thesis considers wave propagation problems solved using finite element methods where a boundary or interface of the domain is not aligned with the computational mesh. Such methods are usually referred to as cut or immersed methods. LÄS MER
23. Palaeosurfaces and palaeovalleys on North Atlantic previously glaciated passive margins : reference forms for conclusions on uplift and erosion
Sammanfattning : Palaeosurfaces and palaeovalleys are landforms under destruction in the present climate and/or tectonic regime, and thus mainly reflect processes not active today. Uplifted palaeosurfaces exist along the formerly glaciated passive continental margins around the North Atlantic. LÄS MER
24. Conservation of saproxylic species : an evaluation of set-asides and substrates in boreal forests
Sammanfattning : Forest management has altered the prerequisite of many species in forest landscapes. The new, more conservation-oriented forest management includes a range of different strategies that aim to prevent losses of biodiversity. LÄS MER
25. Integration of remote sensing and ancillary data for geographical analysis and risk assessment of forest regeneration failures
Sammanfattning : The spatial distribution and size of forest regeneration areas are the basis for an analysis of where climatically unfavourable sites for forest regeneration are likely to occur if the area is clear felled. Knowledge about thermal variations is of interest in forestry, as avoidance of surface temperature extremes is important to regeneration success. LÄS MER
