21. Strontium Titanate-based Anodes for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
Sammanfattning : The purpose for this work has been to develop new robust fuel electrodes for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). The aim was to find suitable ceramic materials or composites with promising properties for the use as SOFC anodes. LÄS MER
22. Carbon nanotubes and graphene polymer composites for opto-electronic applications
Sammanfattning : Carbon nanotubes are carbon based structures with outstanding electronical and mechanical properties. They are used in a wide range of applications, usually embedded in polymer in the form of composites, in order to affect the electronic behavior of the matrix material. LÄS MER
23. Epitaxial Growth and Design of Nanowires and Complex Nanostructures
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the epitaxial growth of III-V semiconductor nanowires using Au seed particles, and the design of more complex three-dimensional branched structures from these wires. Growth was performed by metallorganic vapour phase epitaxy, in which precursor molecules for the semiconductor material components are introduced in a low-pressure vapour. LÄS MER
24. Solving Mysteries and Outwitting Transitions : Investigating the Incommensurate Crystal Structures of AuIn and Sn3Sb2
Sammanfattning : This thesis introduces two new incommensurate alloys. AuIn shows variable amounts of modulation, depending on the measurement temperature. At 400°C the diffraction pattern shows diffuse scattering and a thallium iodide type Cmcm space group. LÄS MER
25. Temperature Dependent in situ Studies of two Simple Structure Types Revealing Modulation : or the Art of Making Glitter
Sammanfattning : In the first part of this thesis, three intermetallic compounds are discussed, that were originally thought of as thallium iodide type compounds. Starting from small evidence that there is more than meets the eye, investigations began to find the true structure of AuIn. LÄS MER
